Genesis 14:3 + Genesis 14:10
These verses are untranslatable in it's current understanding of the words
Gen 14:3 'Joined together in the Vale of Siddim
Joined together in the cultivated vineyard '
Genesis 14:10And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits
And in the cultivated Vineyards, they were wells and the wells were full of Wine.
Siddim, that is 'שָׂדֶה' means cultivated field / threshing-floor and it's Greek translation is 'ἁλῶν (Alwn) and the Hebrew for 'Vale' , that is 'עֵמֶק' (Omq) related to the Greek 'ἀμπελών (Amp'elon) 'Vineyard' , Salt is the by product of wine fermentation, that is were the Salt comes into it.
'vale of Siddim was full of slimepits'
The Septuagint writes ' φρέατα' , the Hebrew text writes 'בְּאֵר' both are cognates meaning 'Artificial Well
ἀσφάλτου ( 'Asphalt ' ) is used in the Septuagint, that is cognate with Hebrew 'אֶשְׁכֹּל ' (Eshkol ) means 'cluster of grapes ' back to Greek σταφυλή (Staphule) 'bunch of grapes' K and P interchange between Greek and Hebrew.
STAPHUL > STAKHUL > ESHKOL * אֶשְׁכֹּל
ASPHALT > ESHKOL * אֶשְׁכֹּל
The Hebrew that is used is חֵמָר / Chemar / 'boil up ' (after wine fermentation)
to the Greek ἡμερίς (Hmeris) 'the cultivated vine' , that is the meaning behind the name Γομορρα (Gomorrah)
Reference - Deu 32:32
For their vine of the vine of Sodom, and their vine-branch of Gomorrah : their grape is a grape of gall, their cluster is one of bitterness.
