Jesus said:

John 4:24
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

If this is true and Jesus never said, "Worship me!" then why do Christians not worship the Spirit as the progenitor of the person vs the person? Especially if Jesus is temporary and the Comforter is eternal?

15 “If you love me, keep my commands,16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be.

this same Spirit is mentioned in Revelation as the conveyor of Prophesy to Jesus.

Revelation 19:10
At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

The imagery in Revelation is pretty interesting. Jesus is not the light, he is the gate not the destination.

Revelation 21:23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Kind of like a teacher is a gateway; which can't be passed until one reaches a certain level of proficiency? like the sphinx? once the student becomes like the teacher they become equals.

Psalm 24:7
Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Psalm 24:9
Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Revelation 3:8
I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
