If you were being robbed on the street of your bags by two armed men with guns, what item would you consider so sacred and so precious that you refuse to let go?

As a nerd who suffered through the process of writing up one of these things, this just made my day:

Student fights to keep thesis in robbery

Gives an entirely new meaning to the concept of defending one's thesis. :D

(sorry, grad student humor... apparently it never rubs out of you once you've been there)

It's so easy to back things up.
I wonder what kind of person would invest so much effort
into something, & then not save it in multiple places.

Oh come on... the point was the defense of her thesis was epic! Awe-inspiring dedication that makes her a certified nerd! Nothing says "nerd" more than "I defended my thesis with my actual life."

That gal really should have had a saved backup.

IRL only my loved ones or my own life would warrant a fight against armed robbers. Even my wedding ring is replaceable.

......BUuuuut.....since you put this into the jokes section.....
Chocolate and my soy chai tea latte would only enter their hands after I left this world.

And we nerds are the kings of missing the point, & then dwelling upon our own interpretation.
So I not only understand, I embody!

Wow!

(and no, grad student humor never leaves...if you're lucky...although I've met a couple of degreed individuals who seemed to be lacking in any discernible sense of humor at all...:p:D:eek::))

You, sir, are guilty of making a serious answer in a joke thread. 20 lashes with a wet noodle.

Having been a grad student in a prior life 40+ years ago, I enjoyed the humor.

Also, one woman against two men in a test of strength and the woman won! She has the heart of a warrior and NO ONE better get in her way.
