Do Muslim women believe that Islam protects women's rights more than other religions?

Because I don't know everything about Islam to have a justifiable position to discuss this even in a devil's advocate position. From the brief readings I've seen of yours, you dislike Islam which is fine, but as the other Muslim respondent said, you guys are looking to argue not discuss.

I don't believe your claim that you aren't a Muslim. Every one of your protest posts that I've seen is in defense of Islam.

Does this process make it permissible for Muslim men to engage in polygamy and beating ones wife? Let's ignore secular sources of law for the moment and let's discuss Islamic law and what is allowed in it.

Are you suggesting then that all other religions do not allow for polygamy and domestic violence? Specifically, do the other abrahamic religions allow for polygamy and domestic violence?

I think the questions are, are there interpretations that allow for it and are the interpretations that do not allow it. In Islam, as in Christianity and Judaism, the answer to both is yes. So how can one be said to protect these rights more?

I believe that atrocities are the backbone of Islam.
And I understand that. It is very tempting to paint any religion by the deeds of some of that religion's followers. Unfortunately, it is does not logically follow to do so, and it doesn't address the argument comparing religions themselves.

Why? Because I'm not trashing Islam? I must admit, I'm fond of Islamic philosophy as I've studied the likes of Ibn-Sina, Ibn-Rushd, Al-Ghazali, Al-Kindi, and others. I'm also a fan of Jewish philosophers such as Spinoza and Maimonides. I guess when I make statements in somewhat of a defense of Islam it is because I have actually studied Islam unlike some that come on online forums. If I have a question concerning Islam or Judaism or even Jainism, I'd go to the individual or the actual temple with my question, not individuals who may not know their faith in its entirety. Now, to your accusation. I see Islam like any other Abrahamic faith. I don't like any religion where I'm told that my connection with God must be done in another language I've never spoken nor taught in Islam, and Judaism that is the case.
So he should start attacking Islam for you to believe him?

Apparently that is the case...

I would like to see an interpretation of Islam that does not allow for polygamy and beating one's wife. That's what I am asking.

As for beating one's wife here is an example: Explainer: what Islam actually says about domestic violence

As for polygamy, I do not believe one exists. Moreover, most religioms lack a legitimate argument to not allow for polygamy as any attempt is ofyen contradicted in other portions of the texts. I believe even secularists have made arguments for polgamy. The problem regarding womens rights is that these arguments favor only polygyny and seem to disfavor polyandry. Do religious text fail in this respect to protect womens rights? Sure. But the question we come back to is does islam fail moreso than all other religions. I suggest not.

Any feminist worth their salt should be appalled at this - The Quranic Arabic Corpus - Translation
Any feminist worth their salt would realize that many other religions have just as appalling... the question is not does islam's view of women fall below an acceptable standard to feminists. The question is whether or not Islam protects womens rights more than other religions? Given that, any feminist should be able to apply critical thought and give a coherent argument either way.

From your link.

Are these two women in denial or practising Taqiyya?

‘He’s permitted to hit her’
My opinion is that islam is subject to interpretation as well. It was requested that an alternative explanation for domestic violence and polygamy be shown to exist. I would think that this has now been established that one exists for domestic violence. And I think you are in denial if you are arguing that it is not.

It would be a little presumptuous for me to say what is the proper interpretation of the quran on these matters, is that what you are asking me to do?
