"Trump’s lawyer repeatedly denied Trump was involved in Trump Jr.’s statement. But he was."

Jeremiahcp

Well-Known Jerk
The Washington Post reported Monday night that the president himself was responsible for the drafting of Donald Trump Jr.'s misleading statement after the New York Times revealed that the younger Trump had arranged a meeting with a Russian lawyer in June 2016. Individuals say White House advisers had decided to be transparent about the meeting, but the president changed the game plan at the last minute to misleadingly suggest that the meeting was about adoption.

Analysis | Trump’s lawyer repeatedly denied Trump was involved in Trump Jr.’s Russia statement. But he was.

Surprise surprise, more lies from Trump.

I just assume anything they say is a total lie until proven otherwise. They have an utter disregard for virtue including honesty.

I've stopped believing anything Trump says, including things like: "I took a breath this morning." Nothing he says is worth listening to.

I had felt the same way about Obama. They're all crooked, none of them are bastions of righteousness.

Congratulations. There are those of us, north of your border who couldn't have voted for him if they wanted to, who have -- by virtue of never having been caught up in the partisan and political rhetoric -- known that for a long time. Being honest, a lot of us were absolutely dumbfounded that you elected him your leader -- we thought the US had lost its collective mind.

In a very real sense it petty much did. If it wasn't for our stupid Electoral College overriding the popular vote all we'd be listening to are Republicans complaining how Hillary combed her hair or didn't chew her food ten times. But I ask you, what's more entertaining, a boring Democrat going about her Presidential duties as usual or a narcissistic pin-head who doesn't even know what his duties are, or cares?

I think I prefer my entertainment presented in theatres or pretty much anywhere but the most powerful office on earth.

Notice that despite Trump getting elected nothing has changed. The presidential election cycle has become a glittery distraction from real politics. Let me give you an example of how impotent and distant the voters have become.

Once again all the pro-life vote has been squandered, and nobody comments about it in the news. The pro life party won, yet what difference has occurred? NOTHING I'm pro choice up to 3rd trimester and after that suggest any procedures avoid cruelty. That seems to be what everybody in politics agrees with, too; but not when they run for election. When they run for election they claim to be either pro life or pro choice. Its almost the only thing that really divides the two major parties, yet once in office neither one rocks the boat on this issue.

So you see, nothing we do as voters really matters. Thus we have elected Trump. Despite that nothing has changed. What is needed is an interest in the daily doings of our congress, not just energetic team sports voting.

There is interest in the daily on goings of Congress it is in the news all the time, they won't shut up about it. Have you been living under a rock?

Trump was a liar long before the election. This isn't news. And Jay Sekulow is a GOP elitist insider. Not to be trusted. Just look up the information on the firm he represents. Crooked people taking advantage of millions of vulnerable Americans.

Maybe the GOP will listen to their base after the 2018 election? I have a feeling I'll be repeating this for 2020 as well.

The GOP doesn't care about their base outside of their vote and wallet.

Citizens do not generally keep track of what is in bills, the names of their congresspeople, who is responsible for what and who thinks what. Most people who vote at all (about 45%) vote and then forget.

And I suppose you can back up this assumption and this made up number of 45% with something other than just your opinion.

**EDIT read post wrong, clarification below.

No its a gift from God through me to you, since I know you only value the best sources. Try this: 45% didn't vote. The fact you aren't aware of it kind of bolsters the point, assuming you are in the USA.

I am well aware of voter turnout numbers. Turnout is something that gets covered in most elections. How does this prove your statement here: "Most people who vote at all (about 45%) vote and then forget."? You are making unrelated points.

@Brickjectivity let me clarify what I am getting at, as I think there is a miss connect in our communication. You made the claim that most voters vote then forget, but can you prove that? I don't think you can, and I think that is your opinion.

I'll just direct us back onto topic then, since you obviously aren't going to.

Notice that these comments are relevant to real people who voted for Trump: the pro-lifers once again (every four years for thirty years) have been back-stabbed, but you are surprised that Trump gets voted in simply because he is a bald-faced liar? No one should be surprised about it.

Ya, I don't care about your abortion nonsense and if you want to get back on topic then get back on topic with the OP as this tread is not about abortion. Also I am not surprised Trump got votes and I am not sure where you come up with the idea I was surprised Trump got votes. That I understand as he appeals to a current of anger and hate that still exist in this country and is pushing back. Their outburst is completely expected.

@Brickjectivity the truth of it is that you appear to be a bigger cynic than I am and have a worst opinion of the general population than I do.
I'm a realist. Marxists are cynics. Trump lies constantly in an obvious way. The thing is, his voters do not care. They didn't care when he was running, and so why should they care now.
