When we reach the point where gods no longer appeared all powerful.

Furst I am Deist but believe all religions have some truth to them, with the creator being far greater than all actively worshipped gods. I also believe arcane is real and should at on point be a subject of study where we use mythical construct to benefit our daily lives.
Say at some point when gods, even with their mythical powers, no longer appeared significant enough to be worshipped. When say over one percent of the population have equal power as a preminent religious figure say a blessed mortal. An the effect of mythos will over time erase them as the belief dwell. So I am basically saying over time the population has grown to a point where worship of gods was absolutely pointless due to how powerful an average person is.

This is theoretical. There are people who worship Cthulhu, and you think gods will just disapear? No...

What has happened, is that many christians have taken their ideal off the deity, and redirected to people, etc, that is a difference at least in theory.

But overall, no.

The divine powerfulness could be questioned by peoples all over the world where all kinds of wars and natural catastrophs occurs.

Wouldn't the believers get quickly wiped out since that 1 percent can be more powerful than their blessed mortal. And the only way to fight back is to ahieve similar level of power but then nullify thei own need to worship any god. In 200 years we may very well acheive this level of personal poweress.

It is important to learn from the past not to allow anyone to force religion by means of laws or threats, and its important not to let politicians determine beliefs. Somehow we need to revive the free press and protect what we have. There is danger that no one will be allowed to be superstitious and we'll be told what we are allowed to think. This is a continual danger, the danger of mental enslavement which leads to catastrophe. The challenge is to allow everyone think what they wish and to let strong arguments win, not strong authority.

The printing press has blown away much of the mist which has hidden the mechanics of the universe. Now the gods must fit a long list of qualifications. Before all they have had to do is to be mysterious. Now they must fit with the behavior of the stars and planets, with philosophies, with biology and with psychology. -- Also they must contend with History.

If we can create a power balance, yes. But the problem is there are people that need to be told what to do and we cannot just eliminate this part of the population not to mention a good number of us actually belongs to this group, we just don't like to admit it. Killing those that cannot decide for themselves would be evil but perhaps over the generation that population will grow phase out. To be chaotically hard to control but at the same time disceplined and still peaceful.
And this is why religions are slowly losing its grip but there are still something usable.

What an excellent story of human hubris and arrogance - the human builds its house of cards and stands atop it shouting "look at how high and mighty I am!" all the while failing to look down on what it is that holds them up. Then a card slips out, the house comes tumbling down, and they at last remember how wholly dependent they are on others for their existence.

I advise minding that house of cards if one wishes to tell such stories of human superiority.

Not stupid enough to go against the creator but killing a false god that have plague humanity is well within our power. But a spectacular failure is better than keep fitting religious wars.

What do you mean when you say "false god" and how would one go about "killing" such a thing? I'm pretty sure that means something very different to me than it does for you, so I don't know what you mean here. While I'm at it, what is this "creator?"

I was not able to follow what you were talking about in this paragraph. "Killing those that cannot decide for themselves...?" "Power balance...?" I'm not sure what is being discussed. Are you suggesting marxism?

The opposite of that. Th end goal should be a population that is extremely independent, possibly to a fault so no one can use anyone.
