in some religions they associate hunting with female goddesses. since hunting is considered a man's sport, how come it's associated with female goddesses?

Mythology is only spiritual spiritual concepts and spiritual allegories, never literal.

Why do you think hunting is considered a man's work?

I expect that there were always some female hunters. That they were hunters in early civilizations, where men likely did most of the hunting, probably meant that they were particularly good hunters. Shake, stir - female hunter goddess myth.

Female hunters existed even during the hunter-gatherer era of mankind. The idea that males were the hunters and not women came from the agricultural idea that women should be at home with the kids and cooking while men toiled with the heavy equipment. Men can cook as well as women if they learn to; why can't a woman learn how to be a good hunter? Also keep in mind that there are goddesses of war and the forge as well, as well as male gods who had healer roles (which some associate with women).
