Is atheism a type of satanism?

In discussions with atheists, if they hadnt already told me that they were atheists, the arguments etc were no different from satanism arguments.

Is atheism, satanism?

Are atheists unwilling satanists?

Is this why atheistic satanism is so common?

Well wikipedia just told me that there are officially two kinds of satanists:

1 - Theistic satanists
2 - Atheistic satanists.

My guess is that you've encountered some atheistic satanists, and that they didn't come to those beliefs by accident.

It's funny you say that. My introduction to atheism was through learning about satanism. But no, they are mutually exclusive concepts. Satanists can be theists, you know, being a god doesn't determine good and evil.

Atheistic Satanism?

If an atheist doesn't believe in Gods, why would you expect him to believe in any other invisible, supernatural entities?
Satanism is a belief system, is it not? Doesn't it entail an ethic and lifestyle? Atheism, per se, has none of these.

Of course.

Oh no. All atheists aspire to be Satanists.

No. Atheistic Satanism is popular because the devil is related to dinosaurs.

WELL, it seems to me that most people I run into who follow the Abrahamic religions are convinced that their particular denomination (and maybe a few very similar denominations) are God's True Way, and everyone else (i.e., Catholics, Mormons, JWs, Jews, Moslems, Presbyterians, atheists, Hindus, Buddhists, agnostics, and so on) are being hoodwinked by the Devil and his minions. ALL other religions and positions about religion are obviously FALSE and Satanism, no matter the differences between them.

So, yeah, if you lump everyone together that way, sure they're Satanists.

No. Unless, that is, you think of everyone that disagrees with your religion to be unwilling satanists. Which they are not.

If atheists are satanists because they make many of the same arguments as satanists against the existence of deity, then Muslims are Christians because they make many of the same arguments as Christians for the existence of deity.

Atheism itself is NOT Satanism and/or Paganism in any way, shape or form. There are some Satanic sects that are atheistic, such as LaVeyan Satanism. Satanism in general is extremely diverse, it's not 1 religion or 1 belief system.

Theistic Satanism is very common as well, sadly LaVeyan Satanism has the most mainstream coverage and so the ignorant masses think LaVeyan Satanism is Satanism itself or the only kind of Satanism, which is false.

'Satan' meaning the opposer, in this context. I can't cover all the bases in one thread premise.

Those wouldnt be atheists, unless they're outright lying. I'm not referring to people who are lying, in the premise.
