"GOP rep: If climate change is real, God will 'take care of it'"

Jeremiahcp

Well-Known Jerk
Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) told constituents last week that he believes if climate change is a real problem, God can fix it.

“I believe there’s climate change,” Walberg said at a town hall last Friday in Coldwater, Mich., according to the Huffington Post, which obtained video of the exchange.

“I believe there’s been climate change since the beginning of time. I think there are cycles. Do I think that man has some impact? Yeah, of course. Can man change the entire universe? No.

“Why do I believe that? Well, as a Christian, I believe that there is a creator in God who is much bigger than us. And I’m confident that, if there’s a real problem, he can take care of it.”

So if God will do everything for us, then we can get rid of Trump, right?

No one can argue that Americans are not a humane people. After all, we hire our village idiots for the highest offices in the land, least no one else will hire them.

Clearly the speaker of those words is not a Catholic

Standing up to the climate change hoax is another good policy move by President Trump.
Do you really believe all those climate scientists throughout the world are just so ignorant about that which they specialize in? And I'm sure most of our allies will be so impressed with us if we pull out of the Paris Agreement, which puts us in conjunction with the only two countries that have not signed on: Syria and Nicaragua.

True story.......
During a flood, Bob took refuge on the roof of his house.
As waters rose, a rescue boat came to him, & offered to evacuate him.
Bob said, "No, my lord will save me.".
Higher the water rose, now to the eaves.
Another boat arrived, & made the same offer.
Bob made the same reply..
Now watter lapped at Bob's feet, but he didn't worry.
He confidently turned away yet another rescuer.
Alas, it rose further, Bob was washed away, & drowned.
Now in Heaven, he complained bitterly to God, "Why didn't you save me!?".
God said, "Criminy, I sent 3 boats!".

I've heard this opinion a few times. If anyone here believes God will 'take care of' climate change, what makes that issue any different from anything else in our lives, like government, acquiring food, water, and shelter, and protection from natural disasters? Don't we take steps ourselves to remedy those problems? We fight revolutions for better systems of government, we work to secure food, water, and shelter, and we install lightning rods, design buildings to withstand earthquakes, and fund firemen to put out fires. Unless you believe we should do none of these things, and instead wait for manna from heaven to fall so we can eat, what makes this issue different?

I would support this if it included water, they kept it up for about, say, ten or eleven days..

Terrorists are real, does that mean God will take of them too? Seems like he's doing a bang-up job across the board.

As asinine as that statement is, no one should really be surprised that Christian Conservatives would invoke the almighty as a front for their endless greed and dishonesty.
