Im weary with electrical tools so I don't buy that from HF. I thought you can't mess up with simple mechanical tools like drill bits but I was wrong there.
Yes, they make a product which looks like a drill bit, but geometry &
metalurgy are things which don't show, so they get inadequate attention.

In general, I don't think I've had a huge problem with Chinese products. At one time, "made in Japan" made people think of cheap, worthless products, but they've improved immensely, as have Chinese products and technology.
I've been reading about Chinese cars lately, and they're making some inroads into the market.
Aye, I thought of the "Made In Japan" evolution too.
And I expect China to mature, although perhaps not to Japan's level.

I recently bought some Japanese pruners (bypass style) with extremely
hard steel. They're better than any others I've ever used. But for
loppers, I prefer the anvil style, so I went with Felco (Swiss)....best
I've ever used. Both were rather spendy.

But as time goes on it all becomes about Trump.
Maybe you will stop referring to Hillary, since I have. You are the one who hasn't gotten over the rigged election.

Think of me as you, @esmith, @BilliardsBall , and @habiru , only with a better grasp of news, history, vocabulary, and a venomous tongue.

Your grammar is better than mine. I will give you that.
And you look better in a kilt. So Wirey says. :)

Since all things are Trump to you, I've a suggestion to save effort.
Make your signature an anti-Trump screed.
Then your post can be about the thread's topic.
The only drawback is that you'll be less annoying.

Maybe you should start a Trump supporters only DIR.
Like the Feminists and Liberals and Communists have.

3.75 years to go. Trump and I are just getting started.

Again, I don't say they're incapable of quality work...
....only that low quality & fraudulent goods are rampant.
As I & another poster (including a link) have noted,
achieving quality there is difficult, & often foreign components
are just assembled there....an easier way to achieve it.

As are high quality and genuine goods.

Pretty much the same for all countries where export is a major component of their economy.

China makes 90% of all personal computers
80% of all air conditioning units
80% of all light bulbs (filament, energy saving, led etc)
70% of all cell phones

Moist of which are of exceptional quality.

You don't get from a central planned closed economy to number 2 in the world in 40 years by exporting shoddy goods all the time.

By your post, it seems you disagree.
Do you say China is not generally worse at quality than western nations?

In a Chinese bakery, many years ago, I was the only non-Chinese, the only male, only blond, the only person under 50, and the only one over 5 foot tall. I placed my order and when it came up they started yelling out what it ewas in Cantonese. I have no idea what they are saying in Cantonese. But then one of the ladies in the group waiting for thier order says "gwai lo"... at that point my thought was "Hey, I know what that means"......"oooo... I do know what that means".... paid for my stuff and left the bakery

I say China supplies western nation's who rebrand. Take a look inside your American branded cell phone, computer, television etc and notice the stamp on the motherboard, made in China.

As for quality, yes and no, at component level they lead the world. In the shoddy goods market they don't seem to have grasped the nuances of glue technology

You're Welcome!
In case your history doesn't extend to last summer, I was referring to your defense of Trump as a Christian candidate. I found that appalling myself, but hardly unique. The large majority of Christians seems to have overlooked his lifetime spent spent on Greed, Lust and Pride and focused on something churchy he said as a candidate.

I defended Trump as a baby Christian--which seems to possibly be upheld by his appointments of Christian leaders, including his VP, as better than the lying criminal on the other ticket.
