Airlines aren't dumb bunnies like those people in Revoltistan buying wrenches.
We're much smarter than United Airlines.
We know that it's bad PR to have cops beat the crap out of paying customers instead of paying them to get bumped.

Our slogan.....
Pay to bump'm.....no cops to thump'm.

News from The Associated Press

Anyone who has ever bought Harbor Freight (aka "Horrible Freight") tools knows that
Chinese made goods are often poor quality or even fake products....wrenches which
bend or break in normal light usage....products which look like the western brands they
rip off, but don't actually work. Now, these same people build a jet passenger plane.
I ain't set'n foot on one!

I think soon we have to start learning the Chinese language.:)

I agree that it's likely to be a good plane.
But anyone who bought a cast iron metalworking vise from China,
& had it break in two only to reveal unmelted scrap within will have
a case of the willies if on that plane's maiden voyage.

I know that not everyone can afford a Wilton bullet vise.
But I stick with those, & Chas Parker, Columbian, Reed, Erie, Paramo, etc.

My mother-in-law (from China) use to build fences around her garden with chicken wire and branches. It looked incredibly flimsy and not at all pretty.... then the day came that I had to take it down.....now I think that she may have been building a chicken wire fortification.... that was hard to take apart

I thought your motto was "Pay to bump'm off...no witnesses"

I'd expect chicken wire & sticks to be a formidable fence.

Trivia....
One of the worst things a train can hit is a shopping cart.
All those wires get stuck in everything.

I'm thinking the worst thing a train can hit...is another train

You cared enuf to make the accusation....& apparently to suggest it still applies.
But I forgive you.

You're misreading.....I didn't criticize Chinese engineering per se.
I criticized the entire system which has the emergent property of
sending us a lotta junk.

"the entire system "

"suggest it still applies"

Chances are that your computer, cell phone, tv, the lighting in your house, most of your white goods, the electrical equipment in your car, brake monitoring etc are made in china or if not fully then critical components and circuits will be made in china.

True some of their stuff is not fit to recycle but the majority is world class stuff.

I'd have no problem flying in a chinese made plane just like i had no problem flying a russian made plane. Id have no problem flying in any plane that had passed international safety standards

Chinese made parts can be of quality.
But they've a pervasive culture of trying to skirt that.
As opposed to what? Trump University?

If there weren't so many people in the USA who believe things like "Get a 500 piece tool set directly from the manufacturer for only 59.99! First 50 customers get a free locking tool box on wheels!" the Chinese wouldn't profitably sell cargo ships loaded with the stuff.

Usonians are accustomed to buying based on price and assuming the government makes sure that the products are as advertised.

Well, it's well known that I'm both a racist and a misogynist.
(I often state so on my profile. It saves SJWs the trouble.)
So it's like accusing me of being an atheist or capitalist, ie,
stating the obvious & undisputed doesn't advance your argument.

I am not worried about advancing my argument, I am just here to bug you. The truth is my uncle is Groundskeeper Seamus.

Again, I don't say they're incapable of quality work...
....only that low quality & fraudulent goods are rampant.
As I & another poster (including a link) have noted,
achieving quality there is difficult, & often foreign components
are just assembled there....an easier way to achieve it.

And that basket of deplorables you may have heard of last year?

Rev is the basket.
