Well-Known Jerk
The makers are selling the jetliner, I am sure the buyer has quality requirements. This is not something you pick up at Walmart.

The aircraft's maker, state-owned Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China Ltd., or Comac, will seek certification from China's civil aviation authority and foreign regulators before making any deliveries.
Bao Pengli, deputy director of Comac's project management department, said Thursday the manufacturer planned to make two planes a year from now to 2019 to obtain proof of safe flight before any mass production is started.

Anyone who has ever bought Harbor Freight (aka "Horrible Freight") tools knows that
Chinese made goods are often poor quality or even fake products....wrenches which
bend or break in normal light usage....products which look like the western brands they
rip off, but don't actually work. Now, these same people build a jet passenger plane.
I ain't set'n foot on one!
Not only am I extremely skeptical of your mind reading powers but he is a big boy and I am sure he can speak for himself.

And it doesn't even have to fail catastrophically to be an economic disaster. If the jets spend time on the ground being serviced, instead of flying and making money for the airline, the airlines aren't going to make a zillion dollar investment in even one plane.This.
It just ain't that easy to make a plane that is economically viable and "sort of" trustworthy.
For one thing, it would backfire economically. Badly.

It does not matter who makes the plane when it comes to airline employees acting like jerks because that's what they're supposed to do by management edict. My wife would be the first one to tell you that there is a quality issue with many things made in China by Chinese companies...and she is Chinese, from China. I have talked with a few Americans from American companies in China that say the same thing. If you do not keep on top of the work force, there will be shortcuts made that very likely will effect the quality of what is being produced.
However, as already discussed, there are those products, that are higher end that are quite good. But you pay for that level of 'quality'.
China is attempting to change its image at the moment and they do not want anything to interfere with their goal of economic superiority so it is likely the jet is pretty good, at least as good as some of the old crates flying the friendly skies these days, and the chances of being beaten up and dragged off a Chinese airline are slim to none, that is unless you are being a complete jerk and causing major issues.
Basically what I am saying is I do not think using Harbor Freight as your baseline comparison to a Chinese made airliner is actually valid
Or possibly, some of us have been here long enough to see a trend of Revoltingest threads and logic to suggest he's not a racist.
Given, that I'm Asian and I didn't find his post to be racist having history of his previous posts.
Just reading his post without any history, I can jump to that conclusion.
Lighten up... It's Friday.
Well, golly.....I guess finding some examples of quality proves there is no general problem!Hahaha.
I rode this one for about 2 years - not a single problem.
and this one as well
Interesting <snicker>.....You are just a bit racist against the Chinese is what it is.
I agree. The makers are selling the jetliner, I am sure the buyer has quality requirements. This is not something you pick up at Walmart.
Personally, I think you are the one that needs to lighten up, I said he was a "bit" racist. We all have our prejudices.
I agree.
I also hear that they've outsourced many components to Boeing & Airbus.
Btw, the OP is tongue in cheek....a reference to many of use who have
used Chinese hand tools & machine tools....the latter of which often
requires re-working just to get them to function.
Interesting <snicker>.....
Tai ben le!
The Chinese half of me family would disagree on that.
And me wife (an ABC) agrees with me about what "her people" are up to.
Remember that I correctly credit the Chinese for inventing wei qi
(aka "go), one of the greatest achievement of any civilization.
But communism caused a breakdown of old ways, & its demise
has created problems as they adapt to the wild west of capitalism.

I suspect people who aren't at least a "bit' racist, are about as plentiful as unicorns.
The fun part; however, is acting like denial proves the bias.
You cared enuf to make the accusation....& apparently to suggest it still applies.Save it for judgement day, I don't really care who you hate, that is between you and the god that does not exist.
You're misreading.....I didn't criticize Chinese engineering per se.But in all seriousness, I think your bias toward Chinese engineering was obvious, and when I say Chinese I mean the people of the nation of China, not people who are merely of Asiatic ethnicity.
