What is wrong with smashing the idols?

You're all over the place.

You asked who shifted the goalpost when it was mentioned that ISIS was destroying statues in Persia. YOU shifted the topic when you started going on about political statues.

Presenting offerings to idols is not relevant to that specific topic.

You have no regard at all, and are one of the most disrespectful people I have ever met. Such impartiality to the destruction of culture by zealous thugs invalidates any and all complaints by you when your religion is slighted, targeted, or victimized.

Well, one of us have no regard at all. After all, you do have a pirate in your signature. Don't you?

The word viking comes from vikingr, which literally means "pirate", "raider" or "freebooter".

No, I have a King in my signature. Yet that is entirely beside the point. One of us is advocating the destruction of other peoples culture and religious iconography. I'll give you a hint: it's not me.

Well, one of us is surely advocating the destruction of other peoples belongings. After all, you are presenting your king, the ruler of raiders. Right?

Isn't ISIS recognized as modern day raiders and lawless adventurers?

Stop trying to distract from your own social shortcomings, soviet. If you wish to make a topic discussing the Vikings, then do so elsewhere. You could even name it "What's wrong with all these people who like fjord explorers?"

@paarsurrey When one asks you if you support the destruction of Persian statues, you say "I don't support it". Why do you go silent when one asks you if you support the destruction of Soviet Union statues?

Because he desperately wants someone to validate political vandalization so he can try to spin religious persecution and vandalism as political. Or something. Or just a smokescreen to divert from the "I'm okay with ISIS committing religious persecution" thing.

Today the wife and I went to a clay sculpture class, and we decided to make some simple godpole idols. Mine are Odin with Gungnir, Hugin and Munin; Thor with Jarngreipr and Mjolnir, and hers are Hekate and a snake.

How is presenting gifts to statues not idolatry?

Well for one it's presenting gifts and offerings to the Gods (or ancestor, cultural hero, etc) represented by the statues, and yeah that's technically idolatry. No one here has said that it's not. Where we differ is that those of us here who make and use idols don't view it as a bad thing.

Then, how am I moving goal posts by mentioning Soviet Union statues and North Korea statues? If both of those nations present gifts to statues then its considered idolatry.

@paarsurrey Are you gonna keep on ignoring this question? Since you support the maintenance of Person statues, do you or not support the maintenance of Soviet Union statues?

I don't maintain any idols, or worship any idols. Idols do distract one's attention and divert it from God while worshiping in the salat/prayer. I will just emphasis this point with reasons and arguments to prove the wrong in them. Personally I will never destroy or demolish any worship-place or the idols or the statues in them. People worship bulls, cows, monkeys etc, why should one kill them all. People worship Jesus, so what one would do with him?

Nothing wrong
Thanks for agreeing with me, if I have correctly understood.
One's signatures give a verse of Quran:
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.
So, Just emptying Kaaba from the idols was the requirement and it must have been done by Meccans themselves who became Muslims. They had no utility to be kept in the Kaaba. Thus the Abrahamic prophecy was fulfilled.
Thanks and regards

Where does it say Prophet Muhammad never destroyed any idols?
