And the why?In the ones that are based on verifiable evidence which can be also confirmed and replicated by any human.
The title is the easy question? The hard question is why?
It's not so easy, as it exemplifies the is-ought problem. The title is the easy question? The hard question is why?
We should believe that Believe is bull****. Trust no one over 30, trust me I am an absolute expert because I am over 30 and i know stupid intimately. The title is the easy question? The hard question is why?
Whether or not we can exercise any degree of control over to believe is an entirely different cognitive game than discussing what we should do ideally. I might agree that I ought to eat healthier but that does not mean I will or I do.It's not so easy, as it exemplifies the is-ought problem.
There is nothing that we ought to believe, since we have no control about what to believe.
That doesn't make it hard, just open to interpretation. It's not so easy, as it exemplifies the is-ought problem.
.
Why should we believe that?A man believes in what was planned for him to believe.
That is fine. Forgiving my word choice, tell us what you should believe.I do not think in terms of "should we"... I think in terms of "should I". If others are inclined to follow my example than so be it.
That presents us with an unfortunate contradiction. We should believe that Believe is bull****. Trust no one over 30, trust me I am an absolute expert because I am over 30 and i know stupid intimately.
paradox actually!!! My avatar is a "reflection" of how that develops. Pun, no pun intended!!!lol. That presents us with an unfortunate contradiction.

My stance is the most distant from relativism that you will find.Hi Willamena,
Are you - once again - arguing from a relativist stance without saying that you are?
My stance is the most distant from relativism that you will find.
I firmly believe in truth that is objective and absolute.
Why should we believe that?
That which our reason tells us is most reasonable to believe. For me, as a logical minded type of person that would include analyzed evidence from the paranormal and spiritual realms. It starts with the paranormal and a judgment on whether there indeed is something going on that is beyond the materialist/scientific worldview. My reason has answered that question with 'Yes'. And then I would consider sources that claim to know about the nature of the beyond the normal and judge the reasonableness of what I hear. Personally, this process has led me to a spiritual non-dual (pantheistic) worldview as the one most reasonable. I call that my 'beliefs' (not my 'faith').The title is the easy question?
