Any Beatles fans out there?

I love The Beatles. Always have. Literally always. My dad and grand-dad liked them so I heard their music all the time ever since I was little. A couple of their songs make me kinda sad because they were played at my grandfather's funeral - but they are good songs. It's not the songs' fault that my memory is excruciatingly sharp in certain instances.

The Beatles are pretty much the only band where I can say I like almost every single one of their songs. Most bands that I like, I maybe enjoy 50% of their songs, at best. With The Beatles, it's probably closer to 90-95%

I think Eleanor Rigby might be my favorite.

Yes - one of the few groups where you can listen to the entire album and not a dud song ...

Cheers!

Discovering them was universe-expanding for me. I did not grow up listening to them. My parents were high schoolers in the 80's, so like all generations, they hated the music of their parents.

I found a burned CD that someone made and left at the summer camp I worked at. It had about 15 of that person's favorite Beatles songs on them. I'd never heard anything like it before and listened to that CD over and over again that summer in my red Discman.

I went to the library and rented 2 of their anthologies. So much music and so much variety. Because my main exposure came from these anthologies, most the versions I know were not the "final" versions. So when I do hear the real versions I sometimes feel that they arr over produced. I often like the simpler versions better.

All in all, my passion has faded, but they remain a strong foundation for my musical education and expansion. I honestly didn't realize that there just was so much music out there, before the Beatles. They still are my happy music.
