Judgement v. Knowledge

Job 34:23

What does this verse imply about God?
I believe the surrounding verses (21-24) help us understand what is being said; "God’s eyes are upon the ways of a man, And He sees all his steps. There is no darkness or deep shadow Where wrongdoers can conceal themselves. For God has not set an appointed time for any man To appear before him in judgment. He breaks the powerful without needing to investigate And sets up others in their place." Jehovah is aware of all that occurs, and can render Judgment against wrongdoers whenever he chooses.

Job 34:23 (Easy-to-Read Version)
23 God does not need to set a time
for people to come before him and be judged.
That he's ready to judge people anytime they're ready. Or . . . .maybe he'll judge you when he sees fit?

Where are you guys getting the word "time" from?

The Easy-to-Read Version. It also appears in the Contemporary English Version, Expanded Bible, GOD’S WORD Translation, Good News Translation, Lexham English Bible, Names of God Bible, New American Bible Revised Ed, New Century Version, and a whole lot more.

But why.

Fatalist. Christian. Pacifist.
33-35:

For He doth not suffer man any more, To go unto God in judgment, He breaketh the mighty -- no searching! And He appointeth others in their stead. Therefore He knoweth their works, And He hath overturned by night, And they are bruised.

True; context is always important.

--
God does no searching; He knows.

For any limited perceptive force, i.e. human perspective, judgement requires "searching," and evaluation of evidence and intent.

Why do the various versions of the Bible express verses differently? My guess is so as to conform to the theology of version's sponsor.

BTW, I took a look at your link to the interlinear post on Job 34:23, and couldn't figure out how it's suppose read. Care to put the English words in their proper order? Thanks.

Word for word it says:

Because - not on man, will He put more; to go to G-d in judgement.
(ie. He won't put more -of some undefined thing- on man).
