What is wrong with smashing the idols?

But why should be one superstitious.
There is no commandment in Veda/Yajurveda to erect idols and to worship them. Please quote from Veda/Yajurveda, if there is any. Right? Please
Regards

The scriptures give no instructions about it. They do not say one must worship a physical representation and they do not say that one must not do this.
The practice was developed by Hindu saints and wise persons. This practice has been an immensely effective method for developing a sense of devotion and connection with the Divine.

Veda gives no commandment to be superstitious. It is the people who do it on their own. Please

How is it not? They put an image of a human on a cross and then sell it across the markets.
If you define idol as I stated Muslims do in my previous post then certainly crosses, crucifixes, icons, statues and sacramentals are all idols. But the key phrase here is "as Muslims do". Since someone inclined to wear a crucifix is unlikely to be a Muslim, they're not likely to care about what Islam has to say about what does and does not constituent an idol. (Or whether or not idolatry is even wrong in the first place).

I don't know what is the benefit of making the idols?

I don't believe that Muslims worked in destroying the idols and there's
no one verse in the quran that instructs Muslims to destroy the idols otherwise
we can never see any idols existing in the Islamic territories while we can
see many idols in Egypt till this day.
