I'm just curious what the general sentiment is towards moderates who voted third party.

Do you think most people would be mad that I did not vote for ______? Angry that I will not choose one side over another? Believe I have no conviction for anything for not choosing a side?

How many people out there think R's and D's are both corrupt, dishonest, manipulative fear-mongers, and that anyone who puts their trust or loyalty to either side is a brainwashed puppet?

Personally I don't think third party are any less corrupt, or without corrupt individuals. They just don't have the resources and influence to be corrupt on the same sort of scale. I certainly don't think a third party has presented itself to be enough of a solution to the problems of the two-party mains to warrant the additional investment it would take to build them up. YET. It's possible there might be a candidate with the policy and agenda to attract me, but right now I'm not especially impressed. Especially with the Libertarian side of things who I have humorously joked are just failed republicans who want to smoke weed.

I think that third parties are a wonderful thing, particularly in local elections where they actually have a chance of winning seats.

When it comes to federal elections, our system of first-past-the-post just about guarantees they will lose. For them to be viable on a national level, we need to transition to a proportional electoral system.

Each election is different for me. I first look at both major parties and decide if either candidate is good for the country. If I find no good candidate I look at the third parties and pick the one I consider the best.

In my life I have voted Republican twice, Green party twice, Democrat once Libertarian once and a two that I don't remember but were independents. I actively promote my vote. I have made my own yard signs in the past but this year I purchased them from the Libertarians.

I think that's an oversimplification. Many on both sides of the isle are morally compromised, but not all. I tend to be loyal to one side, because their platform positions are closer to my own. Corruption is an exception, rather than a rule, and I'll be happy to change my stance if evidence presents itself that all politicians of a given party (federal, state, and local) and by definition "corrupt."

I only think of them as an ally, friendly to my positions. If those postings change, or there is failure to act at all in any of them, then they are no longer my party.

If you've found a party that aligns perfectly with everything you think and believe, and those that lead it are free of corruption, then I am happy for you.

I've voted whoever I thought was the most intelligent man/woman for the job, the party was irrelevant. I don't believe in the far left turd-fest the Green party has become though, so yeah, I don't vote for them. Gary Johnson was dumber than a box of rocks or I probably would have voted libertarian, since I am one. Trump was more libertarian than Gary, so it was easy to vote for him. Hillary, I never considered, even once.

For the Obama years, both McCain and Mittens are complete idiots so I refused to vote. I live in Illinois so I was already aware of how useless Obama was as a senator, so didn't vote for him either. I'm too young to have voted for Reagan, but probably would have voted for Clinton. Dunno, I still like Bill for whatever reason. He has a charm about him...

IMHO, the Democratic voters need to destroy the current party and reform it into something useful again. It used to be about supporting the working Joe, social programs, and other save the planet issues -- now it's about taking Soro's money to riot in the street. I think if you are liberal you simply deserve better than this...

Libertarian Party member here.
Almost always vote that way.
People can have good reasons for voting for either of the Big Two....& even for one of those evil Greens.
Choices can be complicated at times.
Judging who will be good...who will be bad...who is evil...who is less evil...vote
for the guaranteed loser you like or the lesser of 2 evils who might win...?
