List of traditions (Hadiths) that contradict explicitly the holy Quran and they’re the reasons for many crimes and catastrophes.

I put here a list of traditions (Hadiths) that contradict explicitly to the holy Quran and of the reasons for the failure of the nation, and in their name many murders, rapes and other crimes are committed.

And I mention with them the explicit holy Quran verses that prove the fakeness of these traditions (Hadiths) and that the Prophet, peace be upon him, never said them, but they are lies, lied on the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, in the long series of narrators through around 200 years after his death where the risk of error and fraud is far too large.

On the contrary the holy Qur’an was fully written in Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon Him life, and memorized by thousands of his companions, literally prayed with more than five times a day, and so conserved and memorized generation after generation through the Muslim history.

Important Note: I do not intend to summon for discarding all the traditions (Hadiths), there are around 60 thousands traditions in the books, most of them summon for goodness and kindness. What I intended is to summon for putting the holy Quran at its rightful position as the primary judge for deciding the authenticity of any tradition. And the holy Qur’an is easy to understand for any educated person.

“17. And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember?” holy Qur’an chapter 54 Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon)

We must dissociate ourselves from these traditions (Hadiths( that contradict with the holy Qur’an explicitly and cause disasters faced by the Muslim Nation now, so as to purify our religion, and awaken any ignorant before being driven by extremism and violence streams.

I state that any good in this study is a blessing from God Almighty, and that any error is from my humble person and from Satan. And God Almighty is the High, the Great, the All Knowing.

Important Note: I do not intend to start a debate, that’s why I post this thread here in Islam DIR, this thread is informative, if you do not agree with it, you’re free to state this after reading carefully, but be noticed that I’ll not reply in order not to start a debate”

1- The Hadith: "Whoever changes his religion (meaning commit apostasy from Islam), kill him." Narrated by al-Bukhari and others using this phrase.

Quranic verses which that proves the falsehood of this hadith:

“256. There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.” holy Qur’an, chapter 2 Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow).

“29. And say: "The truth is from your Lord." Then whosoever wills, let him believe, and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve. Verily, We have prepared for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), a Fire whose walls will be surrounding them (disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah). And if they ask for help (relief, water, etc.) they will be granted water like boiling oil, that will scald their faces. Terrible the drink, and an evil Murtafaqa (dwelling, resting place, etc.)!” holy Qur’an, chapter 18 Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave).

And it’s is a mistake to consider the wars fought by the first Khalifat Abu Bakr known as the wars of apostasy as evidence to this false Hadith, because these wars were political, the tribal leaders announced their separation from the state and prevented the main funding of the state then which was the Zakat and forced their people to this. So that forced Abu Bakr to fight them for the survival of the Islamic State itself.

2- The Hadith: “I was Ordered to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and establish prayer, and pay zakat, and if they did, the protected their lives and property from me, except by the right of Islam, and their judgment is upon Allah Almighty” narrated by Bukhari and Muslim.

Quranic verses which that proves the falsehood of this hadith are the verses mentioned in the former point 1, plus the following verses:

“99. And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you (O Muhammad) then compel mankind, until they become believers.” holy Qur’an, chapter 10 Surah Yunus (Jonah).

190. And fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.” holy Qur’an, chapter 2 Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow).

“21. So remind them (O Muhammad), you are only a one who reminds.

22. You are not a dictator over them.” holy Qur’an, chapter 88 Surah Al-Ghaashiyah (The Overwhelming).

3- The Hadith of the age of the marriage of Aisha to the Prophet peace be upon him, a complete marriage when she was 9 years old, or about eight years and nine months if the calculated using the western calendar, these false hadiths say that the official marriage announcement was done when she was 6 years old, and the full marriage intercourse done when she was 9 years old, theses false hadiths ironically state that she was a kid playing with her dolls. These hadiths was mentioned in the books of Bukhari and Muslim and Albany.

The holy Quran state that the age of marriage must be proper and reaching the age of rationality as stated in the holy Qur'an in chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa' (The Women):

“6. And try orphans (as regards their intelligence) until they reach the age of marriage; if then you find sound judgement in them, release their property to them, but consume it not wastefully, and hastily fearing that they should grow up, and whoever amongst guardians is rich, he should take no wages, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable (according to his work). And when you release their property to them, take witness in their presence; and Allah is All-Sufficient in taking account.” holy Qur'an in chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa' (The Women).

Additional point proving the falsehood of these hadiths is the comparison of the Age of Aisha and her sister Asma, which proves that the marriage was actually when Aisha was around 18 years old. Also another hadith in the same book Bukhari that states “that Aisha was observing her parents as Muslim since she can remember”, which is actually for any child is not less than 4 years old, and “that this was in the time when weak Muslims migrated to Habasha (Ethiopia now)”, this was at year 5 from the begging of the Prophet message, and all books state that the marriage was on year 2 hijri meaning year 15 from the begging of the Prophet message, which only means that Aisha was around 18 years old at the time of the marriage

4- The hadiths of stoning the married adulterer to death (mentioned in Bukhari and Muslim books and others): their contradiction is explicit to the holy Qur’an in a number of verses. The hadiths even claimed that there is a verse in the holy Qur’an that the Prophet Muhammad did not mention. What a lie and a slander.

The holy Qur’an explicitly states that the penalty for adultery is the same to married and unmarried which is only the torment of one hundred lashes, Not death:

“2. The woman and the man guilty of illegal sexual intercourse, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment.” holy Qur'an in chapter 24 Surah An-Nur (The Light).

“25. And whoever of you have not the means where with to wed free, believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess, and Allah has full knowledge about your Faith, you are one from another. Wed them with the permission of their own folk (guardians, Auliya' or masters) and give them their Mahr according to what is reasonable; they (the above said captive and slave-girls) should be chaste, not adulterous, nor taking boy-friends. And after they have been taken in wedlock, if they commit illegal sexual intercourse, their (Azab: torture) is half that for free women. This is for him among you who is afraid of being harmed in his religion or in his body; but it is better for you that you practise self-restraint, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” holy Qur'an in chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa' (The Women).

“6. And for those who accuse their wives, but have no witnesses except themselves, let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies (i.e. testifies four times) by Allah that he is one of those who speak the truth.

7. And the fifth (testimony) (should be) the invoking of the Curse of Allah on him if he be of those who tell a lie (against her).

8. But it shall avert the (Azab: torture) from her, if she bears witness four times by Allah, that he (her husband) is telling a lie.

9. And the fifth (testimony) should be that the Wrath of Allah be upon her if he (her husband) speaks the truth.” holy Qur'an in chapter 24 Surah An-Nur (The Light).

5- The Hadith that means that the Hadiths are peers to the holy Qur’an (I was given the Qur’an and its peer: Narrated by Ab Dawood), which is a lie, because there is No comparison or approach between memorization and preservation of the holy Qur’an, and the memorization and preservation of Hadiths.

The Qur'an is explicit that it contains all important topics and legislations in Islam:

“89. And (remember) the Day when We shall raise up from every nation a witness against them from amongst themselves. And We shall bring you (O Muhammad ) as a witness against these. And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to Allah as Muslims).” holy Qur'an in chapter 16 Surah An-Nahl (The Bees).

6- The Hadiths of the intercession of the Prophet, peace b upon him, in the Hereafter, in the major sins of Muslims, such as "my intercession for the people of major sins from my nation." Narrated by Abu Dawood and Tirmidhi.

It is contrary to the Holy Qur’an explicitly that with the major sins there is no intercession, it was only mentioned the hard punishment in the hereafter and does not mention any intercession, but mentions that repentance before death, and good deeds are the only means of avoiding the punishment in the Hereafter.

68. And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty;

69. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;

70. Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” holy Qur'an in chapter 25 Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion).

“92. It is not for a believer to kill a believer except (that it be) by mistake, and whosoever kills a believer by mistake, (it is ordained that) he must set free a believing slave and a compensation (blood money, i.e Diya) be given to the deceased's family, unless they remit it. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you and he was a believer; the freeing of a believing slave (is prescribed), and if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, compensation (blood money - Diya) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed. And whoso finds this (the penance of freeing a slave) beyond his means, he must fast for two consecutive months in order to seek repentance from Allah. And Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

93. And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.” holy Qur'an in chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa' (The Women)

As for the normal intercession we can accept it, but within the limits of the small sins, Not major sins.

Like what is narrated by Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Every prophet call is answered calls out and I want to hide my call intercession for my nation In the hereafter, "narrated by Bukhari.

The Qur'an confirms that the intercession is by God willing only:

3. Surely, your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then Istawa (rose over) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty), disposing the affair of all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His Leave. That is Allah, your Lord; so worship Him (Alone). Then, will you not remember?” holy Qur'an chapter 10 Surah Yunus (Jonah).

7- The Hadiths that allow the killing of the person who curses and insult the Prophet, peace be upon him. There are some, one of them is narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, another by Abo Dawood, another by Ibn Hisham.

They are contrary to the holy Qur’an explicitly in more than one verse:

The holy Qur’an explicitly state the order that Muslims and even the prophet, peace be upon him, in response to verbal abuse and insults they must respond with beautiful patience, and forgiveness:

“186. You shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you (Jews and Christians) and from those who ascribe partners to Allah, but if you act patiently “Tasbero”, and become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2) then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs, and that is from the great matters, [which you must hold on with all your efforts].” holy Qur'an chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imran (The Family of Imran).

“85. And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad ), their faults with gracious forgiveness.” holy Qur'an chapter 15 Surah Al-Hijr (The Rocky Tract).

“89. So turn away from them (O Muhammad), and say: Salam (peace)! But they will come to know.” holy Qur'an chapter 43 Surah Az-Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments)

Even in insulting God Almighty God did not order the punishment of death or even any penalty; Instead He leaves them for the Hereafter:

“108. And insult not those whom they (disbelievers) worship besides Allah, lest they insult Allah wrongfully without knowledge. Thus We have made fair-seeming to each people its own doings; then to their Lord is their return and He shall then inform them of all that they used to do.” holy Qur'an chapter 6 Surah Al-An'am (The Cattle).

8- The Hadith: “Do not initiate the greeting with the Jews and Christians for peace. When you meet someone on the way force him to the narrowest part” Narrator: Abu Huraira, Narrated by Muslim.

This hadith contradicts the holy Qur’an explicitly in the treatment of people who are not warriors or fighters from non-Muslims, the holy Qur’an Cleary state their treatment must be with gentleness and the kindness:

“8. Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity.” holy Qur'an chapter 60 Surah Al-Mumtahinah (The Woman to be examined).

“83. And (remember) when We made a covenant with the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none save Allah (only), and be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, and speak kindly to mankind; and establish worship and pay the poor-due. Then, after that, ye slid back, save a few of you, being averse.” holy Qur'an chapter 2 Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow).

The holy Qur'an commands us to repress our anger and give forgiveness for all people, Not to trouble or humiliate them:

“133. And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil);

134. Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good;” holy Qur'an chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imran (The Family of Imran).

9- The hadith that means that there is no death punishment for the Muslim who kills a non-Muslim, narrated by Bukhari.

This is contrary to the holy Qur’an that explicitly states that: The life for the life, whether he is Muslim or non-Muslim, in just retribution:

45. And We prescribed for them therein: The life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. But whoso forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be expiation for him. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are wrong-doers.” holy Qur'an chapter 5 Surah Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread with Food).

“33. And do not kill anyone which Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause. And whoever is killed (intentionally with hostility and oppression and not by mistake), We have given his heir the authority [(to demand Qisas, Law of Equality in punishment or to forgive, or to take Diya (blood money)]. But let him not exceed limits in the matter of taking life (i.e he should not kill except the killer only). Verily, he is helped (by the Islamic law).” holy Qur'an chapter 17 Surah Al-Isra' (The Journey by Night).

“32. For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth.” holy Qur'an chapter 5 Surah Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread with Food).

*** Note: There are other Hadiths about the time near the end of time, such as Mahdi and the Antichrist which are very similar to the legacy of the Jews, and Christians.Their contradiction to the holy Qur’an is in Not mentioning any of these things, such claimed important events should have been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, but they were not mentioned. So I prefer to ignore these Hadiths.

I state that any good in this study is a blessing from God Almighty, and that any error is from my humble person and from Satan. And God Almighty is the High, the Great, and the All Knowing.

4:59 O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (SAW), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.

This hadith is referring to scriptures like the Quran, there is no other scripture left behind by the prophet but the Quran. Without this sahih hadith you quoted people could have claimed that the prophet muhammad left behind other scriptures.
And that's why the hadiths are necessary.

Allah said in (16:44)
"And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought."

This means that Quran can't be understood as a standalone source, we need to know how the Prophet peace be upon him practiced it's teachings.

We sent the Messenger to you from among you, who recites to you Our Revelations آيَاتِنَا; who purifies your lives; who instructs you in the Book الْكِتَابَ and in Wisdom الْحِكْمَةَ and teaches you those things that you did not know.
(Surah baqarah:151)

And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah آيَاتِ اللَّهِ and wisdom الْحِكْمَةِ.
[Surat al-Ahzaab 33:34]

There are many more verses but I decided to quote two. In most tafassir the bookالكتاب is interpreted as the Quran and the Wisdom الحكمةis interpreted as the sunna (according to Qatada) or as the knowledge about the rulings of islam (halal/haram etc.). The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is the one who teaches us this Wisdom so it's clear that Wisdom and Sunna overlap.
Without the hadiths (what our Prophet taught us)we wouldn't know the number of raka'at in the Prayer at what time to pray, manasik al Hajj and many other fundamental things.

Gharib

I want Khilafah back
It's interesting how someone who doesn't accept or regard the hadith as having any weight to then come along and tell us that they are contradictory with the Qur'an. So what about the ones that "supposedly" don't contradict the Qur'an, should they be accepted?

There is a hadith which says that he without knowledge, that isn't a scholar, who comments the verses of the Qur'an, as done in the OP has bought himself a place in hell.

Asalamu alaikum
Can you add the ahadith numbers, which book, chapter and the grade of the hadith.

Hi Sakeenah, sorry for the late reply, I had mentioned here the books where these hadiths are from, most of them are in Bukhari and Muslim books, so most of them their grade is high "Saheeh" according to these 2 books, others are in the second grade "Hassan".

See Bro, the whole point is that these respected books were written around 200 years after the Prophet (pbuh) death, so the chance of mistake is far too great, this does not neglect the very good work done in them, but still, they are at no comparison to the holy Qur'an which was fully written in the prophet’s life and memorized by thousands of his companions,

The point is to discard any hadith that contradict to the book of Allah. Because the Prophet "pbuh" would had never said a hadith that contradict to what was revealed to him from the holy Qur'an.

Quran
(muhsin khan translation)

4:59 O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (SAW), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.

--In these Quran verses, I see the judgement of matters through the prophet is ordained.
--Obey authority, uphold the faith
--Submit
--Salaam

Hi JohnAmes, Yes the prophet was delegated judgment of matters in his life, And still till now if any hadith that does not contradict with the holy Qur'an we take them in judgment.

The Point is that to make sure the prophet said or done something, we must measure it first to the holy Qur'an. Because the prophet is not here now to assure that what in the Bukhari or Muslim or Ahmed books are actually true.

Hi Muslimman, thanks for your effort and the links, I respect this way of dealing with these controversial hadiths, by explaining their historical circumstances. Thanks again for adding information to this thread

Still I prefer the other way of dealing, which is to completely discard these hadiths that contradict to the holy Qur'an, because extremists use these hadiths to brainwash ignorant Muslims and drive them to violence.

These hadiths logically fall under two possibilities:

1- They were confined in the historical circumstances, like what is illustrated in the links you posted. Then discarding them will do no harm, on the contrary, discarding them will have great benefit, which is to understand the religion of Islam as it is for all ages, not confined to certain old age.

OR

2- These hadiths are lies, that were unintentionally inserted in respected books like Bukhari, Muslim, or Ahmed, These respected scholars who wrote these books did all the effort they can, but still, they were late by around 200 years, so to Discard any hadith that contradict with the holy Qur’an “which was fully written and memorized by thousands in the prophet’s life” is for me the logical, correct thing to do.

Thanks again bro.

Salam
