Hi Dan,

I'm not sure what you exactly mean with an originally law bearing prophet.As muslims we believe that Jesus lived according to the Torah, but the law of Jesus was more lenient than the law of Moses.God permitted some things that had been forbidden in the law of Moses.

Jesus said (interpretation of the meaning): “and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:50].

“And (remember) when Jesus, son of Mary, said: ‘O Children of Israel, I am the Messenger of God sent to you, confirming the Torah (which came) before me...’” (Quran 61:6)
