Book Of Mormon Trivia!

I didn't know any of it, so I only got 4/10. I tried to guess what a Christian would say, but mostly I just guessed.
1.

Figured Mormons are named after Moroni.

2.

Lucy guess.
3.

Guessed a gold copy of the Bible. Didn't think it would be the Urim and Thumim, being as Smith lived in the US and the Urim and Thumim was a breastplate. Figured it was just a silly answer like the GPS one.
4.
m_wrong.gif
Guessed that he brought them home to translate. Didn't have a clue.
5.
m_wrong.gif
Guessed they ignored him. I guess there's nothing like persecution to make a Christian feel vindicated.
6.
m_check.gif
Guessed that things probably wouldn't have progressed very far if the other translator wasn't buying it.
7.
m_wrong.gif
Not a clue.
8.
m_wrong.gif
Guessed he used a dictionary. Not sure how the Urim and Thumim would be functional as a dictionary, nor how they ended up in the US.
9.
m_wrong.gif
Guessed Utah since I think that's where all the Mormons live.
10.

Figured there had to be a "reason" why these plates were no longer available for analysis.

Good try!
You can learn more about the church and teaching by googling. There's also a website that can teach you many of those questions.
Ps its name is that of Mormon.

Well, I certainly wouldn't expect a Mega-Super-Ultra-Orthodox Jew to get any more than four right. I've just got to comment on a couple of your comments.

(1) Mormons aren't named after Moroni, but after Mormon, who was Moroni's father.
Oh. For some reason I thought it said Moroni was an angel. I guess I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought.

(9) Actually, only about 15% of the world's 15.6 million Mormons live in Utah, and less than half live in the U.S. and Canada. More than half live in other countries worldwide. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was founded in New York State in 1830. The Mormon pioneers migrated to Utah in 1847 after having been driven out of every state they tried to settle in, and even having an "Extermination Order" against them issued by the Governor of Missouri.
Well, at least I got the right state!

I already have a religion, thanks.
No problem! Just a FYI, that's all. If, for any reason, in the future, you are in need of inspiration or encouragement, it'll be there for you! Defiantly worth looking into . tons of content and information. Have a wonderful day!

I would be immensely surprised if there was more in the way of inspirational and encouraging literature or content and information in your religion than in mine. Frankly, I'd be surprised if any religion had more than we do, much less a young religion like Mormonism.

You'd be surprised as well. We've been writing continuously for two thousand years.
And coming from a religion known for its community, I don't think I'll ever need to reach out to yours.

I'm an ultra-Orthodox Jew.

Gotcha. And I'm happy you have support around you . and I would also expect that you have a relationship to God. Which is really cool!
And by living to the very best you can to His commandments.. And seeking out to him in every day prayer.. He will show you whatever it is you want or need regarding salvation.
If you ever feel unfulfilled or empty, at anytime down the road or suddenly feel lost or as though you don't have the Spirit with you, you always have the scriptures and information online.
Or .. Contact me anytime .. Robrog8999 on Google
And I hope you continue searching and studying the scriptures and praying to God. As he will show you continuous truth and help.

Why do you keep responding to me twice with different responses?

Well people! I'm out. I feel as though I got my message out there and hopefully I've helped at least 1 person there reading these in the background.
I know the church to be true and the original church that Jesus established before his resurrection. We have a prophet today on earth, equal to moses, Abraham and Jacob, who has powerful connections to the heaven's. To read messages from the prophet go to lds.
And for more information about the teachings and to receive a free book of mormon, go to mormon. (Org)
I am now leaving this site, as I don't have much use for it.
Have a wonderful day and I hope God blesses you all and it was nice meeting you all!!!
Take care !

Not your average Mormon
I've read the Book of Mormon, but its history is that of the lost tribe, not Joseph Smith.
Many people assume it's about one of the lost ten tribes, but it's not. So, the story isn't about a "lost tribe" at all. It was just a couple of dozen people (at most) when it started out. Their numbers grew over time, particularly as they intermarried with other groups of people. I saw the pageant a number of years ago, too. Pageants of that sort really aren't my thing, though.

Oh. For some reason I thought it said Moroni was an angel. I guess I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought.
Now I'm going to confuse you further. He was an angel. We believe that he was one of just a very few individuals who was resurrected shortly after his death. He was sent to earth to appear to Joseph Smith as a holy messenger -- aka an angel.

"Is this an A?"
U&M: "No"
"Is it a B?"
U&M: "No"
"a C?"
U&M: ......
"Is it a C?"
U&M: "No"
"Is it a D?"
U&M: "No"

Do you realize how impossible translating a language with casting lots would be?

... did he tell you that? Just curious, how do you know he's not just making that up?

EDIT:

So... is a condition of being a prophet or apostle white skin? I don't see any other race represented.................... Doesn't God love all men?
