This "quiz" is extremely biased towards the LDS church view of events, and twists the truth a wee bit regarding people like Anthon.

I missed one, but I suspect I got that one right in reality:

After Joseph Smith brought the gold plates home, how did people react when he told them about the plates?

Your Answer: They didn't believe him and ignored him

One isn't bad at all. Cool to see you know the history!

I didn't know any of it, so I only got 4/10. I tried to guess what a Christian would say, but mostly I just guessed.
1.

Figured Mormons are named after Moroni.
2.

Lucy guess.
3.

Guessed a gold copy of the Bible. Didn't think it would be the Urim and Thumim, being as Smith lived in the US and the Urim and Thumim was a breastplate. Figured it was just a silly answer like the GPS one.
4.

Guessed that he brought them home to translate. Didn't have a clue.
5.

Guessed they ignored him. I guess there's nothing like persecution to make a Christian feel vindicated.
6.
m_check.gif
Guessed that things probably wouldn't have progressed very far if the other translator wasn't buying it.
7.
m_wrong.gif
Not a clue.
8.

Guessed he used a dictionary. Not sure how the Urim and Thumim would be functional as a dictionary, nor how they ended up in the US.
9.

Guessed Utah since I think that's where all the Mormons live.
10.

Figured there had to be a "reason" why these plates were no longer available for analysis.

Well, I certainly wouldn't expect a Mega-Super-Ultra-Orthodox Jew to get any more than four right. I've just got to comment on a couple of your comments.

(1) Mormons aren't named after Moroni, but after Mormon, who was Moroni's father.
(9) Actually, only about 15% of the world's 15.6 million Mormons live in Utah, and less than half live in the U.S. and Canada. More than half live in other countries worldwide. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was founded in New York State in 1830. The Mormon pioneers migrated to Utah in 1847 after having been driven out of every state they tried to settle in, and even having an "Extermination Order" against them issued by the Governor of Missouri.

I've read the Book of Mormon, but its history is that of the lost tribe, not Joseph Smith. The Hill Cumorah Pagent was more informative, but it was decades ago that I attended.
