What do you think ? Which direction are we geared towards ?
1)We are evolving both scientifically and intellectually , we will find better solutions become more tolerant and learn to live in harmony and peace.

2)We are degrading morally/ ethically /spiritually and the materialistic and egoistic race would eventually lead us to self destruction.

If one looks at history, it's just ups and downs. There's no evidence to support the believer in a golden age, whether they put it in the past or in the future.

I feel neither, the internet allows us to focus on what we feel suits our needs.
The positive angle for negativity is each individual can choose how to react and learn from it.
If each person does a little introspection we may find we are lashing out and standing amongst those that have not healed because we have not healed.
Hence removing us from Love.
Ask yourself every time you react in negative ways, is the emotion coming from your ego or authentic self?
Why does it anger you take a step back and think.
We as humans are in a rapid phase whereby our thoughts create our reality so to remove yourself from the negative, best to judge yourself to be the best person you can be. View others with compassion.

I will reply first based on my religious resources, and then based on my reading of the history:

1. Based on Shia Islam, the humanity is evolving ethically and will one day become ready to receive the Mahdi and Jesus.

2. Based on history, man was much more brutal and vicious before. for instance today we mark the anniversary of Ahsura when the Umayyds Killed the grandson of prophet Muhammad and almost all of his children and many of his relatives and his companions and took his women family members as hostages. they raised the heads of the martyred on long spears and walk with them from town to town...the aim maybe was to spread fear among the people...

All in all the Umayyads were like ISIL, however, people today in general rejected ISIL, however the Umayyads were accepted...

You may find similar examples from other cultures..

At one time in Western Europe, your odds of dying by violence were many times higher than they are in the worst war zone on the planet today.

As numbers increase, need increases too. No matter how bad we deal with our needs, there is no way to tell if they are the problem that forces us to seem bad, or that we are actually becoming bad and not just going with the current of nature.
