Live like you were dying

I came across one meditation that asked what you would do if you knew you would die tomorrow. It almost made me cry thinking about it - and oddly enough it was tears of sadness and happiness. I would be so happy to know that sometime soon I would be free from pain and suffering and meet my spiritual friends. But there is no denying that it would be sad for me to have to say goodbye to my parents and my other family and friends. I think that I would try to make sure that they all knew how much I love them as well as the fact that I am not afraid to die. While I know that my family would be sad if I were gone, I think it would give them some comfort to know that I wasn't scared.

What about you? What would you do if you knew that you were dying? Do you think we should keep that in mind to live a more meaningful life?

The use of "dying" always gets in my head.
Most people would interpret it as "going to die soon" while I see it as "living".
In my head, I've been dying since the sperm and the egg came together.

What about you? What would you do if you knew that you were dying?

Personally, I don't think I'd be too effected by it.
I'd be happy to have the prior notice so I could say goodbye to my few friends, spouse, and sister.
Then I'd go get some Mongolian BBQ and play a couple nostalgic video games, that'd be it.

Do you think we should keep that in mind to live a brighter life?

That any day could be your last?
It really depends on the type of person you are.
I view the idea indifferently, others might take it as a huge motivator, some would get depressed, and some would become paranoid.
Your own life only has as much value as you put on it, after all.

I would do a lot of things that are very illegal. This is a terrible, hedonistic, lower-self, backwards idea.

May I ask why would you do illegal things? Is that the most important thing to do before you go?

If I were to die tomorrow assuming there was no God, I'd do whatever I wanted as there would be no consequence. This is a common idea of course.

I see...so the only thing that is keeping you from doing illegal things now is the possible existence of God? Or do you think that you would be sure he does not exist if you were to die soon?

Yes.

No, I was just taking the hypothetical from an atheistic point of view. If I were to really die soon I would pray til death.

That's kind of scary
I was raised by a sociopath. I have a lot of trouble with things like 'right' and 'wrong' instead diving between 'works/useful' and 'doesn't work/not useful'. I know that sounds cruel and terrible to most people but I can't 'unlearn' it. For me, without God, morals are soundly made up and therefore only to be employed as far as they are useful.

~;> how can we help you to live a more
meaningful life

if i ~;> yes its me and this is my sign like a seal unto my heart and my soul
could do anything as a human to make life more meaningful without hurting anyone
physically especially if the faith of a dying person towards unto the things that is good and cannot lie
is at stake
then i will do it just to make a single dying faith unto every human
to transform them
to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,
who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

It really comes down to what you believe will happen to you after death, however the reality after death might be different. but almost all of us run away from death.

A while ago I almost died. If you tried to live your life to make it more meaningful, you'd ruin it. Living your last day every day would get kind of tiring. Put on sweat pants, get some Doritos, and watch a bad movie once in a while. Karma doesn't mind.

i would probably spend everything I got and buy crazy stuff.

It depends. If I was not really dying, then nope.
