I'm not superstitious, but as I said over in the Pagan DIR; I have a lot of land, with wooded area outback, and wonder if: A.) Fae reside there; and B.) How best to live harmoniously with them, for not just for their sake and mine, but for all my animals as well.

Gods are everywhere; not just in nature. Nature is just the natural abode of gods (and everything else).

Would it be only gods in European countries?
Well, the 'fae' are the remnants of native, polytheistic European beliefs. It's a form of animism, I suppose. 'Smaller gods', perhaps.

In Japan, the term for all divine entities is 'kami', so they don't really have the equivalent word for 'fae' and such things.

Aah. I see. Hm. Interesting, thank you.

I tried looking up Fae since I refer to Spirits as, well Spirits. If they are my ancestors, I refer to the ones I know by name. Do you mean fairies?

As I tried to explain on the other DIR, my view of Fae is quite broad. I'll give it another try. What they are not:

Fae are not of Man nor of Beast, nor would they be Spirits if by Spirits you assume those do not have a physical manifestation.

Fae are physical, but also other-worldly; not of everyday life, hidden as they choose to be.

Yes, I like the Kami, that's certainly something I consider Fae. Djinn are also Fae.

As I said (I think) in the other thread, the fae or fairies are not gods and they are not confined to Europe. The things that are said about them are said elsewhere about other kinds of entities. In Japan, the fox spirits do exactly the sort of things that are done by fairies in Ireland or the swawtixwted among the Salish.
