I think that picture is wrong. It is not written that the birds were let loose.

Perhaps, I just googled "Jesus beats the money changers" and grabbed one of the pictures that popped up.

Can we think? Jesus drove out the animal sacrifices. Then, what did the people do? If money was your prime objective, what would YOU do?

I'm not sure what you're asking here, I've just always found the money changer story funny. Jesus was supposed to be this super non-violent, peace to all, love thy enemy, turn the other cheek guy...then they tell the story of him flipping out and beating on people with a whip. Go Jesus, Go! :)

exactly.....what?
you insist for evidence to believe
if no evidence you do not believe

no evidence for the existence of God.....therefore....you do not believe

an atheist in sheep's clothing?
Currently I believe in God, but sometimes I have my doubts. I'm constantly exploring my faith trying to figure out whether it makes sense. My only claim of knowledge is that I don't have enough information to settle on spirit or substance being first absolutely. And I wholeheartedly disagree that a choice must be made.

I am sure he did not beat the people. The whip was for the animals. When the animals ran out, their owners ran out after them. Think human nature. Geesh

I think he did, the passage says "And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen." Every version of it I've ever seen depicted shows Jesus whipping the money changers. He flipped over tables too, he was filled with righteous anger.

I hope you are kidding and have not lost the power to hear. It does not say that he drove them out by whipping them. If those men were with me in a room I could drive them out just by talking. So, the way he drove them out is by driving out the animals. Animals obey people with whips and people obey their money. OK?

It probably does not matter if I go off topic as I think my posts do not exist here.

So let's do the logic. Jesus drove out the animals and with them went the men. Who drove out the men? The animals? LOLOLOLO

It doesn't say he didn't whip them either, and every single depiction of it I've ever seen shows Jesus beating on the people, not calmly herding animals. Why has every single artist interpreted it this way?

It does say he flipped over tables, evidence that he wasn't calmly removing animals. He went bananas, flipped over tables and started whipping people, it was an angry, chaotic outburst.

But that's OK. I don't blame Jesus. After all...nobody's perfect. :)

Perhaps you want to believe Jesus calmly ushers some sheep outside and the moneylenders calmly followed, but that's not how the rest of the world views that incident.

That it is written he turned over tables means something. I shall think about it......

Turning over the tables would spill the money. The spilled money from each table would mix with the money from the nearby tables. It means mixed money. I am sure. :D
