This is fun!

It is written Jesus says, "get away from me".

Why does he say that?

Depart is a verb and away is a place. What will he tell them?

Matthew 7:22"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

Matthew 7:22-23

If you look at what he is purportedly saying it means for them to go do their evil works someplace else. Where?

Oh, that is very weird! You are being artsy putting us in the same box but much more! I get another box, a scary one, when I try to reply to you @Thief

what if He DOES tell the angels......drag out the garbage....
and there I go....

But the words would be different. The words would be, "get them out of here".

Good point! That one does not match the one this thread is about. It just doesn't.
How so? The wedding one has them staying away and then being killed for it and the one at the Judgement Day is the opposite. It has them coming but told to go away (not killed).

Do the self-proclaiming Jesus apostles have Jesus making no sense at all?
Hm, I wonder what will happen to those ones?

No! I believe Matthew 7:23. But I think they have the words scrambled.

I know for a fact that it doesn't matter.

Sounds to me that Jesus is saying, "The right words from the wrong people are the wrong words".
In the case the wrong people being those he considered to be hypocrites.

I disagree. Right words are right and wrong words are wrong. There are no right people for every good gift and perfect present comes from The Father. and the wrong people for as long as they live are able to accept the good things God has for them. IMHO

How about? Never me you knew, your works were apart from me, [thus] wicked.

Ask anything in my name and I shall do it. The workers of iniquity of Matthew 7:23 did their works in their own name.

Same thing...he's talking to people who said the right words, but were not true in heart(hypocrites)
