God is in Hell - it is the other guy that is in Heaven

Is God in a far-away place with his back turned to pain and suffering? All those who dream of going to heaven after death - a place of no more pain or suffering - let us realize that pain and suffering WILL end - for YOU! That last word is important - it doesn't mean that the pain and suffering that stalks this planet of ours has gone away, it is just that you chose not to be a part of it anymore

If you are a volunteer at a dog shelter - well, now that you are gone, does that mean dogs and cats are no more dumped on the roadside? That animal cruelty has gone away? of course not - it just means you have stopped caring, that's all
You could take any other issue that is dear to your heart - whether you are fighting to eradicate a disease or unjust laws or censorship - you are basically saying you are out
This whole business of your loved ones waiting with a big smile on their faces doesn't make any sense - if you still remember your loved ones in heaven then you can't but worry about them. If you have died in an accident and your loved ones have been injured or left heavy debts or you are the sole-breadwinner of the family - worrying about your loved ones mean pain and suffering - and that can't be allowed in Heaven. So, logic says you no longer remember your past life

Where would you find a coward? Underneath the bed. Where would you find a warrior? In the teeth of battle, maybe bleeding to death. Basically, you will find the warrior just where he or she is needed, and the coward where there is no pain or suffering, where it is safe. Where is the need for God in Heaven? People are happy, enjoying themselves, would they miss God if She is not there? of course not. Recall a time when you were enjoying yourself at a party - dancing, drinking, looking deep into the eyes of a loved one - were you thinking of God? of course not.
But let us suppose your loved one is in the hospital battling for her life - do your thoughts turn to God? of course! Is God right there with you in your hour of need? Of course! God is right where She is needed

Where there is God's work being done, there is God! Where is God's work being done? Here, right here! God is right here with us

The problem is that people don't want to be here - they want a Sugar Daddy to take care of them - just hand over the good life - a life of ease and religions are more than happy to keep the Ponzi-promises going. Heaven is for the selfish, the coward - running away from life - as i have written before, running back to the Nest, the womb, lost childhood

Logic clearly shows that the closer one gets to God, the more the pain and suffering. The farther away you get from God, the less pain and suffering - ergo, it is the other guy who is in heaven, God is right here with us

WOW! What a revelation.
One many have already realized long ago.
Not putting down what you said.
OF COURSE GOD IS RIGHT HERE WITH US.
I don't subscribe to the notion that this "God" is floating somewhere above this
Earth at all.
God exists around and IN us if we just will allow it.
God is right here with those that will acknowledge Him.
Somehow in the course of human history we have LOST the innate ability
to commune with God.
We need to meditate on this. Meditations is a LOST ability in most cultures
today.

My Idea? Not at all - there is nothing new under the sun - this isn't Einstein's E=mc2 - it is just religion and spirituality

But you have to admit that some religions have parked God in Heaven -"God is watching us, from a distance"??? What these people want is heaven - the easy good life but that would make them look selfish and running after a fantasy, so adding God to that world makes it look good, makes them look good. They are not after heaven - the good life - no sir, they want to be with God! But of course, if being with God comes with some nice benefits, who are they to say no?

I think this was revealed by Vaidika dharma eons ago! He exists in each and every object in the universe as its antaryami or inner controller. God is NOT someone who sits in heaven and passes judgements like the abrahamic faiths likes us to believe and not to mention the eternal hell fire...oooooooh

Heaven is only heaven because God is there. Only true joy and eternal happiness can be found in union with Him. All suffering will cease, on the earth too, God will wipe away His people's tears, and the earth will be transformed.

That doesn't mean we live our lives doing nothing, we live as servants of Christ, lives of love and compassion to all mankind, preaching the Gospel and the only way that humans can be spared from the judgement they deserve, being adopted as God's very children!

Yes In death there will be no suffering. I am sorry there is no magic Sugar Daddy land where you can just sit back and enjoy the good life - it is just a fantasy

"spared the judgement they deserve"? - those words scare me - the words of a slave - afraid of the master. With one side of the mouth you talk God's love, joy and happiness and with the other veiled threats if we don't convert. No child should fear her own father, no father would be proud if his children fear him - you use the word child but your view of God is more as a Master - "the Master will just give us the good life if we just get down on our knees and pray" - very primitive ideas - risen from times when Kings ruled and the subject's well-being depended on the King's whims

Were you meaning for this thread to be for Hindus only? It's very hard to tell even though it is in Same Faith Debates.

In the Mahabharata God Krishna made it clear to us that He will only advice and instruct - nothing more. God is a Teacher - our goal is Moksha - Enlightenment, Knowledge - we are participants of His Lila - if you want to be lifted from where you are, you must put in the effort

Well the concept of Heaven is current in ALL religions or most religions rather, even Buddhism doesn't escape

Almost everyone seems to be running away to magic lands of happiness and joy - few seem to see the Gift of Pain for what it is

Do you not believe there will be any justice? There will be justice, and God will justly judge those who have sinned and rebelled against Him, this is hardly unreasonable.

Doesn't everyone want justice? Perhaps only a man afraid of the wrongs he has committed himself wouldn't want it.

sounds immature. So, what if he is a sinner ? is he doomed completely with no chance of redemption ?

If he repents and turns to Jesus Christ then he will be saved. God didn't leave everyone to condemnation, far from it, rather He sent His Son to earth, God in human flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ to take the penalty we all deserve, to bear the wrath of God and the judgement, so that all who believe and trust in Him will have their sins paid for and have eternal life and joy with Him.

I disagree, a child should fear. A child should fear that if he refuses to follow his parents advice he will fall on hard times. A child should also fear that if he rejects his parents, he will falter without their help.

No, my point is what if he did not realize or repent in this short life time or say he died accidentally just after he thought he has to repent ? what then ? is he doomed........ ? Illogical in my opinion

Repentance is not down to us but God. Human beings hate God and it is down to His grace that we are saved, that we are given the grace to repent and turn to Him.

I do not think most humans hate God. It is only those who do not know about Him or believe in Him that might hate Him. The reason we have so much trouble on earth is that God has given temporary control of earth to Satan. This is to show what life without God can lead to ( hatred, crime, war, etc. ). But God is sending Jesus back to earth to take over and eliminate the problems caused by Satan.

In other words you do NOT have an answer. You are only just pushing everything on god. How many of the people who missed to repent having died in accidents? There has to so so many! So all these people are doomed for eternity? Sorry my dear this is where abrahmic faiths look childish and exposed

god says everyone will get a chance to repent when Jesus returns and the dead rise from their graves. Everyone will have an equal chance to repent and be saved. Religions that do not teach this are not teaching what the Bible says. They are teaching their own made up ideas.

How do I not have an answer? Repentance is down to God to begin with, people wouldn't repent without His grace anyway. If everyone deserves punishment then the real wonder is why God would save anyone at all, not why people would end up in Hell.
