I don't see how it could be a 'primitive' view since chess has been played throughout the old Muslim empire. It's no wonder these douche bags destroy history, because they must feel extremely threatened by it.

After all, if the leadership is so annoyed as to make it illegal, it must mean that people

Tell that to all the people upon whom suffering up to and including death is inflicted for one of the following:

1. Being the wrong kind of Muslim
2. Being non-Muslim
3. Questioning Islamic doctrine
4. Leaving Islam
5. Mocking, criticising or making fun of Islamic notions e.g. that non-Muslims should be forbidden from drawing Muhammed because Muslims are.
