So do you agree with forbidding chess, or do you only agree that chess should be played in your spare time and not when you have more important things to do?
First, Bet and gambling are forbiden in Islam. 90 % of muslim don't care Saudi Arabia, It is a wahhabi country. we don't care about Saudi Arabia's mufti's decision. Chess or any other game can be played but Islam is against extremism and also against understatement also. A person, a man/woman has many thing to do I must work, I must pray, I am busy with my family I must help to my children to do their home work after school or I can help to my mother or my wife in some work at home but if me, instead of to help my wife to clear our house, I prefer to play chess during two hours with a friend It is not good according to Islam. It is an example you can change the events, If I buy a football match ticket instead of to pay my electricity facture then It will not good according to Islam.

Honestly, all I am really doing is trying to pin down where you stand on this issue a bit clearer. You still haven't made it clear whether you agree with the grand mufti or not.

No I don't agree. As I said Islam is against against extremism and also against understatement. For example It is not good to eat one's head off (to eat much) There is an extremism or It is not good to be very stingy there is an understatement. You must help poor people also.

Ah, okay. Thank you for the response and I apologize if you felt I was suggesting you agreed with the grand mufti's decision.

Saudi Arabia’s grand mufti has ruled that chess is forbidden in Islam, saying it encourages gambling and is a waste of time.

Do you think this is excessive fanaticism? or do you support this?

i think this look dangerously like a chain reaction where a shrinking brain comes up every day with better ideas to make the brain shrink even more.

i'm just curious to know if this is the result of pure ignorance or if there's a method behind all of that, since chess for example is probably the game more praised for helping the developement of abilities in logic and analysis and so i see why it could be considered dangerous

It is just a proof that Islamic religion - the rigorous practice of which deeply cripples the human mind and morale.

I never heart any gambler on chess. Bridges and chess are the only games without a need of gambling. You just use your brain and you need real brain to win in these kind of games. I wish saudi authories behead these vermits who bring a real shame to Islam. I will not ask for basic human rights in these cases. Surely these people are not human, though they might look like .
