My fellow colleagues of the LHP, what are your thoughts on the question of is there life beyond the death of the physical body? Is there a soul or spirit or life force, etc., and is it or can it become immortal?

No but our story, actions, and words can immortalize us.

Welp, I used to be an atheist. Then I seen a ghost IRL that looked as real as anyone else. :)

Since that time I've managed to communicate with dead folks, spirits, and even a god(dess) or two. I'm not sure about reincarnation, karma, or any of that other jazz because I am just not in a position to confirm. I've met the gatekeepers between the realms of the living and dead and made it back. Of course, most people will probably attempt to rationalize that away -- but, of course that's exactly why they can't do it. Wherever the left brain takes over the right brain (our intuition, and access to the unconscious mind) fails... :)

These gatekeepers do their jobs as a labor of unconditional love, and my direct personal connection to them was evident. Ultimately, we are all part of the core consciousness of the universe and we neither live nor die, but merely transform. Much in the way that we are all distant cousins... apparently, it is not much different on the consciousness level of things... :)

Anyway, I'm just sharing my direct experiences. Haters gonna hate and all. :smilingimp:

What I will say is that over the years I have in real life experienced unexplainable things and the presence of the "god-form" of something else, which has convinced me that, yes, there is something else out there, and within us as human beings and also, perhaps, within other animals. An essence that is beyond natural life and death. It does not die, and does continually transform. This essence is of intelligence and of self-awareness. What is it? I cannot truly say. The essence of the Black Flame perhaps? I don't know, but it does exist what ever it is.

I believe there is an afterlife because I have experienced visions of it and some of those visions were so powerful I could simply not ignore them. I also believe in the soul because I have witnessed what I could only describe as visual manifestations of supernal beings. Also, I was not the only one who witnessed these. I even experienced three solid weeks of what I can only describe as the most impressive and terrifying supernal manifestations of my life. Had I not experienced those events, I might well have become an Atheist. The experience was like living in a horror movie, complete with possession, severe sickness, insect infestations, rodent infestations, strange shadowy figures, haunted nights, strange seemingly source-less noises and music, presences even the guests and movers could feel and the terrible smell of sulfur, causing one of the movers to ask if the house was haunted. Not only this, the fact two moving trucks broke down, a murder almost happened in the drive way, thousands of dollars of damage, the worst type of luck I had ever experienced in my life. Literally, if anything could go wrong, it just did. Nothing went right. Then, even through some of this, I denied the possibility of of those things being "supernatural", which is what my family member claimed. I refused to believe them, constantly trying to apply skepticism to explain the events with natural causes. Only towards the end, did I finally believe. You see, I never believed "demons" were associated with the smell of sulfur or anything like this. Needless to say, my whole world was turned upside down and I became a believer. Really, the whole move was in every way it could be, cursed. So, yes, I believe in a soul. I also believe in "demons". Perhaps the strangest thing is that these experiences did not lead me away from my religion but brought me intimately close instead. I am certain most would have run away to Christianity, had they experienced something like that.

Big question, addressed only to the Left Hand Path practitioners?

I guess it's to all :)
IMO physical body can be immortalized, but we don't know how to do that. There are one good reason for that - we are all mixed up in chaotic societies and our parents didn't know how to educate us for an early childhood how to use our life force when we have it most and what would be our next steps when we grow older. Families are basically lost there's essential purpose, and that is to transfer there's powers and possessions to the next generation. So, we loose our precious childhood in simple things and sooner or later being left alone.
Reincarnation is very exhausting process. You have to die and to be born again, just to be young again and to go further into your own sophistication. That's why body immortalization is very rational and good choice.
Karma is a form of manipulation over massive number of people. People are afraid to bad things avoiding bad karma, which is not spiritual act at all.

I am curious about what LHPers thoughts are on this subject as we are the creators of our own belief systems, and will not give answers filled with religious dogma. Not saying your post contained dogma btw. =^_^=

My beliefs come from logic. Nothing that we know ever Ends / Dies, the energies always dissipate and form anew. Given this Principle it suffices to say that the kernel of What We Are will neither End. I believe we are already immortal in the form of our Higher Self / GodSelf which exists outside of the objective universe and is a Singularity (not at the mercy of objective duality).

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, for many reasons. To start, the way I see it is that there seem to be 5 afterlife options. Nonexistence, disillusion, apotheosis/ascension, heaven, and hell. Right off the bat I'll throw out those last two. So we have three options that ate actually worth pondering.

Nonexistence is the most solid of them. From a materialistic perspective this is the only real choice, as the self is tied to the physical body. This is the view based simply on science and matter. However, most here would agree science and matter only paint partial pictures. It seems to me that nothingness is related to the Egyptian Ammut, who devours the self of those who fail the mystical journey. Materialists, main stream sheep religion, all these people will live out their empty lives and cease to exist.

Disillusion is interesting, as it seems to happen more during life than in death. Those who seek to be One with All tend to have that experience in life as well. However, after death this still essentially amounts to loss of the self, which is what most after life discussions revolve around. It reminds me of Egyptians becoming an Osiris in the afterlife, everything just becomes static bliss.

Apotheosis is the hardest but possibly mist worth it. For example, I greatly enjoy my isolate consciousness, my problems and suffering arise from the physical world, not the spiritual one. To keep the Self after death somehow would he fantastic, to Become without the mundane constraints of the human body.

I think the goal is a mix of the latter two paths. Living a life of a sheeple or nihilistic materialist is not for me at all. I enjoy disillusion in life as it separates us from the mundane, including pain, but I don't like the loss of self. Apotheosis is my afterlife goal, and if only option one is true at least I had a strong life.

In my own Opinion Reincarnation is possible but not automatic,,, In my own opinion The Astral body probably stay on the Astral plane until he fade away so the Soul can reincarnate or If the Mage is strong enough he can probably sustain his astral body indefinitly and stay on the Astral instead of Reincarnate himself and start all over again

For me the Human is composed of Four Part or body :
1-The Physical Body
2-The Energitic Body
3-The Subtle Body(Astral Body)
4-The Soul (Our Essence, our core)

So When the Physical Body of a Human Die, is Energitic Body now in the Astral body began to deteriorate, after this the Astral body(subtle) begin to Deteriorate if the Mage is not able to sustain it. After this the Soul is Recyclated and Reincarnate

I don't believe in life after death. I think that a soul cannot stay in one piece without a brain, instead it scatters around to form spiritual energy. In my opinion, people should "live in the moment" as this is the only chance to lead an enlightened, free life. I think we decorate life too much, and make it more complex than it need be. Too many people get concerned about with a life that there is no proof of. Why don't we worry about this one?

I don't think it's mutually exclusive. I strive for immortality of consciousness and the practices in this life are pragmatically beneficial, if nothing else.
