CA Shooters most likely radical Islamic Extremists

I've got to say, at first I thought this incident wasn't related to international terrorism, but apparently it is looking more and more like that is the case. Yet, Obama came out today saying that the US is safe from ISIS. Does anyone else see this as a bit counter-intuitive?

I don't think anyone is surprised, but thanks for staying on top of the incident.

It's weird. I was surprised. I guess I shouldn't have been, but I just thought this was another brand of "crazy". Turned out to be the same old terrorist ideology, though.

It's the whole "it will never happen to me" mentality. I share your thought on this one.

Yeah they were doing research and they just happened to find the people who were blamed for the shooters to be Muslim? This smells to me. Not that it really matters if they were Muslims or not (They can be aliens for all I care) but this seems like another divide and conquer mentality. I feel some are trying to get Muslims and non Muslims to hate each other. Same way with blacks and whites. All while crying out for gun control to try and take away people's rights to defend themselves. These shootings seem to follow the same pattern. And alot tof the time these guys didn't have a criminal record and all of a sudden they do this? No one finds this strange?

It bugged me when the brother-in-law of one was asked if the suspect was "religious". Honestly, we don't see the media question about other shooters and whackjobs if they were "religious" but throw a middle eastern look or name into it and suddenly it matters. As if it is only "terrorism" if it is a Muslim doing it.

Today about 90 people will die in automobile accidents. About 90 died yesterday and about that many will die tomorrow. Today, about 40 people will be murdered as will happen every day this year. Yesterday, 230 women were raped. 230!!! I can't tell how frightening that number is to me. That's real terrorism for you.

If you're going to let fear control you, then find some bigger fears. The chances of you being taken out by Isis here in the US is pretty slim. In fact, there's a theory that this guy snapped because everyone was treating him like he was a terrorist anyway. Sort of a self fulfilling prophecy in that regard. Hey, I get that phobias are irrational, but that doesn't mean you have to driven by them. We have some huge issues in this country. Sanity with some sort of gun control, systemic rapes, bigotry, and the list could go on. If you're going to be scared by Muslims, we'll put you in the same category as people afraid of being killed by falling coconuts.

I find it strange that you would think that Obama, after explicitly urging us time and time again to not blame all Muslims for terrorism, would be trying to do this. He just came out and said that the evidence is pointing to the probability of this being related to extremism.

Honestly, until this new information came out today, I was confident that it was NOT related to Islamic Extremism. But, I still thought it was terrorism, as it seemed a bit too intense to be merely a personal grudge.

There are threats that are far worse than ISIS or the other terrorists group. Those guys are just grocery clerks in comparision. Many of the more dangerous threats are often ones that aren't in plain sight. This seems like an attemopt to get people to hate Muslims and use them as a scapegoat and they don't even realize they're being manipulated.

Of course he did. He says a lot of things. This is a guy that won a Nobel peace prize and thinks it'd be good to start another war overseas. Of course he would say something like that. Why is the nation even more divided thanks to this presidency if he wants us to stop blaming Muslims and unite? Actions speak louder than words.

How are they being manipulated, specifically? Are you claiming that they are lying about the communication records they have between the shooters and known Islamic Extremist recruiters online? In other words, a conspiracy?

When did Obama say that he wants to start another war overseas? His actions seem to point to the opposite, but can you support your claim?

And, it is obvious, to me at least, that this distrust of Muslim, although disgusting, is due to extremists using the religion for ill intent.

They say they found evidence but how do we know it wasn't planted there? How do we know? These are suspects to, not convicts so how do we even know they were involved?

He specifically said he wanted more boots on the ground and I don't think those soldiers are going over there for a picnic.

This is the thing with the war on terror,. It's a war with no end. Because they aren't fighting a state or country so there's no way to define a winner so the war goes on forever? Why do you think it hasn't ended? Or the war on poverty or war on drugs? They aren't going to end. And follow the money.
