Watchtower Governing Body: Are They The Exclusive Channel For God??

The governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses and many Jehovah's Witnesses are over confident. I would be glad to eliminate over confidence in this world. My Christian friends are building up confidence in themselves, who are human. I have just enough confidence in humans to be able to get along with them but I think I must be like Job and like Jonah, like Mary and Joseph. Their confidence was not themselves.

I fear it will take the world's utter destruction to teach Adam's children that confidence is GOD, not human.

Christ means anointed. Anointed means king. King means kingdom. In Christ means in, or a part, of God's Kingdom. imho

Please tell me. Is there scripture which says we are "in Jesus"?

How much of what you believe must I believe to be saved?
You need to believe what the Bible says, not what I say.

If you want to believe the Bible teaches that you can't have the assurance of salvation, that's your call.

I am saved. I stand on the promises of God.

Believe whatever you want.

If you are in Christ, you are clothed with Christ. That is not mho. It's what the Scripture says.

Galatians 3:27
26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.

If you are in Christ and clothed with Christ, God no longer sees sinful you when He looks at you. He sees Christ.

Sorry dj, our posts crossed.

1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,

To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:

2Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8
First of all "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight." HIM is not a sure word. It probably says "same" referring to not the person of Jesus but the heavenly realm

This is where we part ways. The Bible is not Jesus. Jesus is The Word. The Bible is not a living thing. Jesus is alive. The Bible has no feelings. Jesus does. You have not heard one word I have said about some scripture being wrong. Wrong misleads. Does it not?

If I did not know better I'd say these last words belong to our JW friend. It is the same as she has said on the forum many, many times.

They are confident in an earthly paradise.

My confidence lies with the promise of Christ Jesus that if I believe in Him, I will have eternal life.

No. Then why does scripture say there are lesser and greater ones? Why does it say that what we build with will determine our reward?

You are right! We part company here. If your authority comes from what you think, feel and hear in your head, then that is your choice.

My authority comes from the words, written by GOD, and those alone.

Is The Bible and Jesus Christ the same thing? Of course not! LOL.

Saved people are in Christ. They are clothed with Christ.

If you can't believe what the Scriptures say, and prefer to rely on your own wisdom, there's nothing I can say that would matter.

You are arguing from your old JW leanings.

Ohhhh, so you've changed your mind now? If you're sure you have eternal life, then you must also be sure you are saved.
I am sure I am saved. Am I sure I will stay that way? Only DEAD things do not change. I am not dead. I am alive in Christ.

Eph 1:3-4 (ESVST) 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

Eph 1:6-8 (ESVST) 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight

Eph 1:9-10 (ESVST) 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Eph 1:11 (ESVST) 11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

Eph 1:12-13 (ESVST) 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit
So what do you think it means to be IN CHRIST?

You could have saved yourself a lot of aggravation by saying right up front, "I am sure I'm saved." Instead you kept arguing. Why?

I made it clear from the get go that once saved always saved is a false teaching, but you still insisted you could not say for sure you were saved. Why?

And then you even became offensive saying I sounded like the JW's, over confident, knowing full well their hope is far different than mine.

I don't understand that kind of antagonism at all.

It started with a simple question. Are you saved? But YOU made it into a major and totally uneccesary argument.

What It Means To Be In Christ
  1. In Christ Jesus you were redeemed and forgiven for all your sins.Ephesians 1:7, “In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses.”
  2. In Christ Jesus you are justified before God and the righteousness of God in Christ is imputed to you.2 Corinthians 5:21, “For our sake God made Christ to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
  3. In Christ Jesus you have become a new creation and a son of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Galatians 3:26, “In ChristJesus you are all sons of God, through faith.”
  4. In Christ Jesus you have been seated in the heavenly places even while he lived on earth. Ephesians 2:6, “God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
  5. In Christ Jesus all the promises of God are Yes for you. 2 Corinthians 1:20, “All the promises of God find their Yes in Christ.”
  6. In Christ Jesus you are being sanctified and made holy. 1 Corinthians 1:2, “To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus.”
  7. In Christ Jesus everything you really needed will be supplied.Philippians 4:19, “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
  8. In Christ Jesus the peace of God will guard your heart and mind.Philippians 4:7, “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
  9. In Christ Jesus you have eternal life. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
  10. And in Christ Jesus you will be raised from the dead at the coming of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:22, “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christshall all be made alive.” All those united to Adam in the first humanity die. All those united to Christ in the new humanity rise to live again
All christians are IN CHRIST. Our hope lies in these promises.

Not really. This is what you said "I see salvation as a process. I am saved. I am being saved. I will be saved. You will find examples of saved in all three tenses, past, present and future."

I can see that I am saved past and present. I cannot see that I am saved future. You say once saved always saved is a false teaching and I agree. But your explanation reveals that you do believe it somewhat. I think I hear you say saved now means saved at the end. I think I disagree with that.

Matthew 25: 31"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32"All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.....

41 “Then he will say to those on his left: ‘Go away from me,+you who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire+ prepared for the Devil and his angels.+42 For I became hungry, but you gave me nothing to eat; and I was thirsty, but you gave me nothing to drink.43 I was a stranger, but you did not receive me hospitably; naked, but you did not clothe me; sick and in prison, but you did not look after me.’44 Then they too will answer with the words: ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to you?’45 Then he will answer them, saying: ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, you did not do it to me.’+46 These will depart into everlasting cutting-off,*+ but the righteous ones into everlasting life.”+

Matthew 7:21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

You just don't get it, do you?

I can say with all confidence that I am saved. I am being saved. I will be saved. It is a done deal! How do I know?

I know because God has promised this.

I know that there will be times when I sin and fall short (disobey), but God has promised that as long as I confess my sins and walk in the light as He is in the light, He will continually cleanse me.

Can I lose my salvation? Yes! If I turn away from God completely, I can lose my salvation. Can I predict the future? No! But my question was not about losing salvation. I simply asked if you were saved. You turned it into something entirely different.

I am done discussing this with you. You are belaboring it and seem to want to continue to argue for the sake of arguing. I'm not interested.
