What a delightful subject! Honestly, I do not recall seeing this Bal Radharani in Vrindavan - HOWEVER such a Murti MUST exist because I do know that Baby Krishna and Bal Radharani is born in every house and shelter of every resident of Vrindavan on Janmashtami, even if they do not see both children in their house , Who are likely asking for (or stealing) ghee!

I pray to Radharani's pet deer to save me from not thinking of Radha thinking of Krsna! If I imagine Radha thinking of Krsna by way of the mercy of Her pet Deer, then I might return to Vrindavan and find this Bal Radharani Murti with my eyes!

I do not recall seeing this Bal Radharani in Vrindavan -

I too am amazed that there is so little mention of Bal Radharani and even though know this Deity exists I can find nothing writen about her

I pray to Radharani's pet deer to save me from not thinking of Radha thinking of Krsna! If I imagine Radha thinking of Krsna by way of the mercy of Her pet Deer, then I might return to Vrindavan and find this Bal Radharani Murti with my eyes!

so beautifull , I too will pray to Radharani's pet deer because I want to go to Vrindavan , I have a plan to go and I am working on it but I must save the money for my project , but now you have given me this wonderfull blessing I will pray to Radharani's pet deer too then we will both go to Vrindarvan and travel to Barsana where we will find her , ...

here is the temple of sriji it is said that the deities are 5000 years old and were found and re installed by Narayan Bhatt Goswami , a devotee of Lord Chaitanya , here the diety of Radha is known as ladli lal or lali ji , ...but there is so little to be read about it here on line I have searched , ....this is the temple in Basana , ....

shreeji-temple.JPG

but I do not think that Bal Radha is here , ...

Radharani was born in Mahavan at Mathura, ....
it was Vrishbhanu ji who descovered Srimati Radharani in the river , standing on a lotus leaf , so the story goes , ...
but I am more likely to think because of her divinity she was born from the whorl of a lotus so our beautifull radha would have been sitting in a lotus flower .

it was Raj Vrishbanu who descovered radha and took her home to his wife Kirtida she was freind of Yashoda mata , ...
when he returned home with bal Radha Kirtida discovered that she was blind , ...only when Yashoda mata came to visit to see the baby that Radha finaly opened her eyes whenthe baby Krsna crawled up to her cot , ..it is said that she was waiting for her beloved to appear before she opened her eyes , so that Krsna would be the first thing that she saw .

Shiva fan ji our prayers have worked , ...

I have found her , she is here at Rawal in mahavan , ....

we must go there , ...this is her lalan form

link to where I found her ...
I dont have time to read now but I will return later

What happened to Radharani at the end of story of Krishna? I know when Krishna left she enjoyed vipralambha-bhava 'the mood of love in separation' and she met him at Kurukshetra for one last time. I know the Sita was taken back to the earth - but cannot find out what happened to Radharani

I heard Srimati Radha Rani was elder to Lord Krishna.

Yes I have also heard that she is older than Krishna, but I have also heard the same story about her being found in the river and as Radhasthami falls just after JanmasthamiI think it is more likely that they came together to be with each other. After all they are one and inseperable.

The story I have heard most often is that Krishna asked to marry Radha but the village sage told Krishna that this was impossible because he would soon have to leave Vrindarvan to go back and kill the evil Kamsa. Then the sage told Krishna about his true parents and that his stay in Vrindarvan was only for the duration of his youth and that he was infact of royal decent and that it was destined that he must go back and fulfill his Dharma.

But some say that they could not marry because Radharani was older, I am not sure this is the real reason.
There is another story that ties in with this @ratikala will tell it better than me, it is a little complicated and I dont want to get it wrong. But this thing of age prehaps it is because being the same age as Krishna Radha would have naturaly been promiced to an older boy and Krishna should have maried a girl younger than himself, this was correct etiquete at the time, plus Yashoda mata not being his real mother would not be able to arrange his marriage, it must be done by his real parents who Kamsa held in prison.

This time of Krishna and Radha in Vrindarvan is a very special time, and Vrindarvan is a trancendental world so the relationship is very special and very complex with many hidden meanings.

I have been told, that they could not marry because they were not seperate in the first place - that they are are soul in two bodies. But I suppose everyone is the same soul in many bodies so I don't know. It's kind of bitter sweet . Just what I heard from someone at temples.=)

I have also heard they didn't marry because Radhaji was already either married or promised to someone else. Their love was meant to be the height of spiritual love, rather than physical so perhaps that was a way to make that clear? Again, just relaying what I have hear/read. I don't know much at all about Sri Radha Krishna.

so many of these questions are impossible for us to answer or understand , even withn Krsna temples and within Krsna traditions trere are differnt stories existing , and so much controvercy about the pastimes of Radha and Krsna and questions as to why so much about Radharani is hidden , , ..I have always asked my self why these differing accounts exist , ....
it is prehaps because of our own limited understanding and our need to explain things on a level that we can understand , ...
sometimes it is hard for us to grasp , but the apperance of Krsna is a little different from that of other avataras in this apperance the suupreme appears as himself in his trancendental form , thus he appears in his early years complete with his eternal consort Srimati Radharani , she is an expansion of Krsna himself they are like the sun and its radient warmth they are inseperable , ...prehaps the only simple explanation for Radhas presence in the early years if Krsnas apperance is that as a child Krsna is also to some extent hiden , ...he has been removed from his natural parents and the court of King Kamsa due to the threat to his life from his wicked uncle , so untill his maturity he is living in semi seclusion hidden from public gaze and here he must stay until his maturity when upon it is his duty to kill Kamsa and to return to his position with in the Yadava clan where he would eventualy play his role in the mahabarata war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas .

this was the purpose for Krsnas comming to establish rigtious rule before the begining of kali yuga , however as a child in hiding he took on the guise of a cowheard boy and here in Vrindarban could play out his divine and eternal lila accompanied by his eternal brother Barlarama and his eternal consort Srimati Radharani in this respect Vrindarban is the lords trancendental abode , it is no ordinary place , here the lord can behave as he wishes enacting his own divine lila .
first we need to understand that the lord himself can expand in any way he wishes Balaram is an expansion of Sri Krsna and Sri Radhika is an expansion of Sri Krsna , ....even Vrindarban it self can expand and contract according to Krsnas will , Krisna himself can expand and contract , ..just as he did when he expanded as all the young cow herd boys and their cattle , ....and as he did in the Rasa Dance where he multiplied himself inorder to dance with all the Gopis symultaniously , so from this we might understand that Krsna is no ordinary cow herd boy , Vrindarban is no ordinary abode and that Radhika is no ordinary cow herd girl , ...nothing about Vrindarban or Krsnas lila there is material , ...
So what of Radha ? she did not even take material birth she appeared upon the whorl of a lotus , ...and was descovered by Vrishbanu because of her golden efulgence , ...in otherwords she wanted to be found by Vrishbanu , she wanted to be taken back to his house to be cared for by his wife who just happened to be a close friend of Yashoda mata , this is Krsnas divine lila , his play for his own delight , ....why else would Radhika only wish to see Krsna , why would she appear but not wish to open her eyes untill the moment she could see Krsna , ....this is Krsna tasting his own sweetness and to do so he must manifest in another form to be the enjoyer and the enjoyed , ...
and all the while Krsna remains in Vrindarban this lila can endure , ..but when Krsna must leave to fulfill his duties this play must cease to be enacted and the loving passtimes become love of seperation .

there is a sweet conversation between Radha and Krsna whic took place before Krsna was due to leave , where upon they realise that they must part , ....... just before this moment Krsna had gone to his parents in all seriousness and asked them to arrange a marriage between him and Sri Radhika , ....his father thought that it was about time that Krsna was told of his true parentage and his impending responcibilities and said that he must put this request to the sage Garga who told the young Krsna that he was infact the son of Vasudeva and Devaki , and that it was foretold that he would kill the evil king Kamsa , ...Garga told Krsna that time had come for him to study under the sage Sandipani who would educate him in shastra and in warfare and told Krsna that he was destined to be the savior of the coming age , ....it was at this point that Garga explained to Krsna that Radha was just a simple country girl and would be unfit to be the wife of a prince who must play such an important role .

it is at this point that the Rasa Dance is supposed to have happened , where upon Krsna caled all the cowherd madens to come to dance with him , it is here that Krsna divides homself so that he may satisfy the desires of al of the cowherd maidens to dance with Krsna , and although he symultaniously danced with Radha , she became just a little jealous , so she stole him away into the forest to be alone with him , ....it is here that the conversation took place whereupon Krsna disclosed what he had been told , ...Radha was inconsolable in her sadness , but knew that she could not accompany Krsna into this duty that was expected of him , ....she knew that she could not marry a prince and live a courtly life , she knew that as a country girl she was not equiped for such responcibilitys , ...in their loving exchanges they vowed never to be sepperated in heart and mind , ..and here in this loving exchange they spent the night together , .....and although we should not speculate upon their loving dalliances , ..we should know that although they did not engage in a formal wedding ceremony , ......that when a high born prince enjoys union with his beloved this is considdered a Ghandava marriage so in truth yes they were married , and although in body they were destined to sepperate in heart and mind thery were and allways will be one .

Devotional Songs or Pad Kirtan of Shri Radha's Childhood Leelas
"May! De Chandra Khilouna Lay"
423x267xmay-de-chandra.jpg.pagespeed.ic.1YfX3I5Z6L.jpg

May dey, chandra khilounahin laya.
Little Radha (Kishori ji) says to her mother, "Oh mommy! Bring me the moon to play with

Kari dhari chibuk chunvari Kirati ko, kahati thunaki tutaraya.
Placing Her hand on her chin, she says in Her sweet baby talk,

Haun maiya chanda sang khelihaun, so mohin at man bhaya.
"I really like the moon. I'll play with it."

Tab laun haun nahin makhan khaihaun, jab laun nahin mangaya.
"As long as you don't bring me the moon, I won't eat butter."

To son bat na karihaun, laihaun, aurahin may banaya.
"I won't talk to you and I'll make someone else My mommy."

Kou bhushan kabahun na pahirihaun, daihaun basan bahaya.
"I won't wear any ornaments and I'll throw away my clothes."

Jaihaun bhaji sakahan ghar, tumhare, ghar rah mori balaya."
"I'll run away to the house of my friends. I won't say in your house."

Matu hathili-Lali chandramahin, darpan laya dikhaya.
Seeing little Radha's stubborn persistence, Mother Kirti brought a mirror and showed Her the reflection of the moon.

Bhori Kunvari jani sancho tehi, kilkati pakarati dhaya.
Little Radha, who is extremely innocent, thought the reflection was the actual moon. Squealing with delight, she tried over and over to grab it.

Jab 'Kripalu' nahin pakari paya tab,
kah kachu muh latakaya.

Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj said that when She realized she would not be able to get it by any means, little Radha became disappointed, and putting on a long face, she started complaining quietly to Herself.

What is profound about JKP Maharaj's poem above, is that this is exactly the story with Radha's real Moon - KRshNaChandra.

Just words, nothing profound, unless one has a romantic God-loving heart; in which case a devotee swims in an ocean of sweetness. Nothing much for an advaitist. I am not a theist but I can still feel it. Beautiful. What a chubby Radharani! :)

Ghar rahi mori balay: my enemies only will live in your house.
Kilakti pakarati dhay: Squealing in delight, runs to grab the reflection.

Radha/Radharani is a fictious character....Radha was never ONCE mentioned in the bhagawatham. It is most likely injected in one of the puranas , Brahma-vaivarta which is heavily touched by the british stooges to degrade sanatana dharma by making Sri Krushna look like an addict of some kind.

Rukmini and sathyabhama along with 6 others + many who were rescued from the Narakasura are mentioned with Krushna .

Not to mention, Neela Devi is the most cherished by Sri Krushna and it was said by acharyas in a rheotorical way that Sri Krushna left paramapadam and came to Nandavraja because of Neela devi such is her beauty.

Sri Maha Vishnu in the paramapadam has only 3 forms of Lakshmi devi as his/it wives.

1. Sri Maha Lakshmi
2. Neela Devi
3. Bhoo devi

Hope this helps

History and faith are two different things. Why blame the British for everything. Did not Chaitanya Mahaprabhu sing the praises of Srimati Radharani in 14th Century. Perhaps Neela Devi is the same as Srimati Radharani.

Vaishnava janato

One who is a Vaishnav (Devotee of Vishnu)
Knows the pain of others
Does good to others
without letting pride enter his mind.

A Vaishnav, Tolerates and praises the the entire world.
Does not speak ill of others
Keeps his promises, actions and thoughts pure
your mother is blessed indeed.

A Vaishnav sees everything equally, rejects greed and avarice
respects women as he respects his own mother
though his tongue may tire he will utter no untruth
Never touches the property of others.

A Vaishnav does not succumb to worldly attachments
he has renounced lust of all types and anger
The poet Narsi will like to see such a person by whose virtue,
the entire family gets salvation.

I have had time now to think on your strange comments , ....

I am not going to do into debate over what is writen or what is not writen , this is a devotional thread , .....

I would like just to give you some thoughts to contemplate , .....

firstly if the Vrindarban lilas were introduced by the British , or the British stoges , ....then they desreve more credit than you are giving them at present , as the Vindarban lila illustrate such complex understanding of the two fold nature of Krsna . and be assured that any one who understands this lila does not veiw Krsna as an adict , these passtimes enhance and develop our understanding of Krsna .

secondly , ...these accounts do discredit to Krsna , far from it this lila has attracted thousands into his loving service .
furter more if the intention was to degrade Sanatana Dharma , then it has backfired , Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Bhakti movement has spread all over the world bringing millions in to ''Krsna consciousness'', ...thus doing so the appreciation for Sanatana Dharma has been spread world wide , .....

prabhu ji we should forget these historical emnities between nationalities , after all why carry on this hatred ? it will only act as a poison and harden your heart , let your heart remain soft in love for Krsna and for devotees of all sects .

Agree Ratikala,

If it has done good as you said by bringing many people into loving Krushna more, its good. But the fact is Radharani mainly was a fictious character, I cannot comment on the works of chaitanya mahaprabhu having never heard of him till now. Sri Krushna has that intense love what you are depicting for Neela devi/Nappinnai in his Krushna janma as one of the 12 alwars , our mother Goda Devi sings and explains in Tiruppavai about the beauty of Neela devi. According to Vedas, nArayaNa has 3 forms of Lakshmi devi as his wives in Sri Vaikuntam , Sri, Bhu, Neela. Neela devi is mentioned in Vedas while Radha not even once. Some of the british stooges has equally corrupted the Adi Shankaracharya history in ways one cannot imagine, the real Shankaracharya in his authentic commentaries ,used only 3 words for the supreme brahman, that is Vishnu, Vasudeva and nArayaNa, he never sang about other deities, the 2 laharis shivananda and soundarya laharis are dropped on the real shankaracharya by another one with same name and imposed on him , the real adi shankara was born around 500 BC but the date was pushed to 800 AD so that english stooges can copy his philosophical works, would not go into that as that is another big explanation

Radha i think means attraction, love personified, in sanskrit , not sure of exact meaning, we can view her as the that may be.

thank you for your agrement on some points , but we must clarify this accusation of Radha's position , ...you are now saying ......''But the fact is Radharani mainly was a fictious character,'' ...we must be very carfull to discriminate between fact or fiction , and I agree that there may be some stories built up around or attributed to any divinity but that does not mean that the Divinity does not exist , nor does little documentary evidence prove non existance .
we must remember that the lord and his passtimes are eternal to condense and commit all these eternal passtimes to shastra it would not be possible , our lives would not be long enough to read them all , ....

the works of Lord Chaitanya are them selves very short in that he left very little written works , we have to rely on verbal teachings handed down from deciple to deciple , .....this is then open to conjecture by some as to the actuality of any later biograpical works or discourses given upon his teachings . we must also remember that many of the teachings were originaly disseminated by oral transmition , ...in such instance some information and accounts of historical events exist only in some sampradayas which have a particular devotional interest in any particular divinity or Lila .

Bhu Devi , Laksmi Devi and Neela Devi are regarded as the consorts of Visnu thus they apper with more prominance in Sri Vaisnava traditions , however Radha is considered the eternal consort of Sri Krsna in his Vrindarban lila , ....just as you veiw Laksmi , Bhu and Sri to be manifestations of Laksmi Devi her self each appering to fullfill individual functions and display different natures , in the same way Srimati Radharani and Rukmini are different expansions of the Supreme himself .

Some of the british stooges has equally corrupted the Adi Shankaracharya history in ways one cannot imagine, the real Shankaracharya in his authentic commentaries ,used only 3 words for the supreme brahman, that is Vishnu, Vasudeva and nArayaNa, he never sang about other deities, the 2 laharis shivananda and soundarya laharis are dropped on the real shankaracharya by another one with same name and imposed on him , the real adi shankara was born around 500 BC but the date was pushed to 800 AD so that english stooges can copy his philosophical works, would not go into that as that is another big explanation

true yes true Adi Shankacharya anoter conversation , and an interesting one , ...however I dont think that it helps blaming the British as there are allways interpolations from all angles including other Sampradayas , ....

Radha i think means attraction, love personified, in sanskrit , not sure of exact meaning, we can view her as the that may be.

there are many meanings given to the name Radha , ....it is said that rAdhA is the sound of Krsnas flute , and that as Radha is herself the the way to Krsnas heart as without Radha's approval or sanction one canot approach Sri Krsna so rAdhA is equaly accociated with sucess , ...Srimati Radharani is herself Golden in Hue , it is interesting to note that Rukmin ; रुक्मिन् is one adorned with Gold , ....Rukmini unlike Radha (who was a country born girl),...was a daughter if a king .

however in some temples Krsna has three wives Rukmini , Satyabhama and Rahi , ....(Satyabhama is believed to be an avatara of Bhu Devi ) , (Rhai beleived to be Radha ) , .....
