How could first big-bang explode?

Currently what powers the big bang is called Dark energy. It is called dark energy because we currently do not understand what it is , how it functions or where it comes from. These are all wonderful questions we are currently working to answer.

Your not going to get a definitive answer. My opinion is that it was the start of this great cosmic play of the creator God/Brahman.

Paarsurrey, we just don't know that such a need for an expanse exist or ever existed.

We may well believe that it did, but that is just not a given. We may formulate a hypothesis based on that idea and tests based on those hypothesis, though.

Science is not supposed to be bound by arbitrary, unproven statements.

That would be fine for mathematics, where they are called axioms, or some religious doctrines which call them dogmas.

Science, by contrast, is expected to pursue an understanding of how things actually present themselves, and therefore can't very well afford to assume that untested, unevidenced models are necessarily accurate.

We may believe that the universe had some sort of pre-Big Bang existence, or that it did not. That the Big Bang itself happened, or that it did not. In either case we can't scientifically know that it did. In science it is necessary to formulate hypothesis, attempt to create falseability tests for them, use those tests and from the observable results find support either for or against those hypothesis.

Odd as it may sound, science does not deal with certainties. It does however value supporting or refuting evidence quite a lot.

Where did God/Brahman come from? Were they created with a Big Bang?
No, I see Brahman as the uncreated (beyond the comprehension of the finite) and the material universe as His cosmic creation/play/drama in which Brahman can experience finiteness. In this play He separates Himself from Himself and returns Himself to Himself. In Advaita thought we are Brahman experiencing through the mask of finiteness.

A singularity expanded. It amounts to the same as if a supermassive black hole expanded creating out time and space in its wake.

No one states it exploded

Aah, special pleading.

Misread which forum I was in. I'll give it a shot anyway. The big bang comes from a description about the supposed origins of our universe in light of the observations made determining that we are in a state of expansion. It's not held as fact, as no theory is, rather it is the best explanative model that we have. Given the big bang model, there are different hypotheses that suggest how it could have happened. Some don't need any predefined space, but rely on other spaces outside of our own. Some suggest a cyclic universe. It's hard to hypothesize pre-spacetime, harder to test. All we can do is check the math and make predictions.
I used to like the idea of multiple bangs and crunches as a kid, not sure why but it was my favorite.

There must be some expanse for it to explode. How did this expanse come to exist?
It didn't explode. It expanded. It didn't expand into an expanse. It is the expanse becoming.

Explosions always happens within an expanse. But space at the Big Bang (a misnomer, i.e. not an accurate name for it) expanded to become the expanse.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was caused by the reaction between matter and anti-matter, which ended up being a bit heavy on the matter side, so the universe could be formed as is. Theoretically, if it was anti-matter heavy, the universe would consist of anti-matter instead of matter.

Cosmologists have various hypotheses but at this point there is no way of telling what caused this expansion (actually two expansions a minute fraction of a second apart). With the study of the "afterglow" (radiation emitted from the BB) on-going, it is possible they may have a better idea of the cause fairly shortly, according to Susskind.

No one really knows anything about the Big Bang & its origins.
Some have very sophisticated speculations with a lot of corroborating evidence.
But they weren't there to see it.
It would be a tough thing to observe.

The better question to ask is how could spacial infinity not ever have had a beginning? Remember....time is merely a mental construct to represent a finite segmental measurement of the eternal enduring now...and finite space is a mental construct of represent a finite circumscribed spacial volume of infinity. These mental constructs are only concepts invented by humans to put imagined finite limits on eternity and infinity so as to help make it simple and manageable mentally to help explain and understand the working of cosmos that are relevant to the mortal condition and survival as a species....

Due to useful information given by some of our friends in the above posts, I would like to amend the OP as below.

How could the first big-bang expand?

There must be some expanse for it to expand. How did this expanse come into existence?
