If hypothetically a man actually did what Jesus did in the 1st century would it occur like the story

You have a good point, but even so, if there was a magical person out there who was the real deal that might have more repercussions than that. There's a verse where it says he had to send away the hungry or preach from a boat, well the fact is in reality that would quickly turn into non-relenting and constant situation. The people who said 'oh another one' would literally be dragged out to wherever this magician was, I think. The roman empire would recognize it a lot quicker as well, wouldn't they?
I think you're changing the hypothetical a bit. The question was if he actually had existed, not whether the NT account represents an accurate portrayal of such.
But still, I think those in the surrounding neighborhoods would have been more likely to have been the ones on line. Think about how long it took to travel back then. To up and go on a journey of months (at least) just to follow up on a rumor of another healer. Let alone how long after the fact, they would have actually heard that rumor. The masses didn't have that much time or money to waste.

The thread is about if it actually happened, not about the claim. Being born of a virgin is actually the least impressive if compared to the actual miracles this person would do. Again, this thread isn't about the claims, it's about if the story would happen the same way if these types of people actually did these things here on earth, in reality.
Jesus was a prophet/messenger of the One-True-God, he was not a magician or a professional healer. Paul and his associates had created a mythology or a new religion which has got nothing to do with Jesus or his teachings.
Whenever a prophet/messenger comes from the One-True-God most often the people would ridicule and persecute him like they did with Jesus.
One may like to refer to in this connection to Al-Baqarah Chapter 2 : Verse 88 .

Here are just 10 people born of a virgin in the ancient world:

  • Buddha
  • Krishna – born without a sexual union, by “mental transmission” from the mind of Vasudeva into the womb of Devaki, his mother.
  • Odysseus
  • Romulus
  • Dionysus*
  • Heracles – Son of a god (Zeus)
  • Glycon – son of the God Apollo
  • Zoroaster/Zarathustra
  • Attis of Phrygia
  • Horus

A list of 'virgin births' that contains the expression 'Son of Zeus'

At least 9 of these 10 are not people born of a virgin.

And you believe that each of the mythological stories are accurate and true?

You believe, for example, that Hercules(Heracles) was born of Alcmene after Zeus came down from Olympus, transformed himself into a look alike of her husband Amphityron, and banged her?
(The fact that this isn't a virgin conception notwithstanding...)

You believe that Dionysus and Horus are legitimate, living, historical figures?

Atheistically
Go ahead and tell us more on what you think would have happened if there was an actual simulation tested out if you would.

If a Galilean Jew had all the attributes reported many things could have taken place. But it would not have taken place as written.

He probably would have been able to clean out the Roman oppression and corruption in the temple. He would have been viewed as the messiah by all of Judaism, not just Hellenist in the Diaspora who wanted to pervert Judaism.

We would not have as many contradiction legends and we would have even more mythology.

What would you do?
I'd.... hmm. I don't really know.

I like this idea of asking what could God do to make sure his presence remained known - I've always felt that He, certainly (supposedly) being capable of doing so, probably should be doing so if he "loves" us all so very much.

I think, if I were God (face it, sometimes it is just plain fun to blaspheme), I would install some sort of circular ticker, or marquee that would consistently spin around Earth, about 40 feet off the ground, and large enough to be read easily. It would have no real form, or substance, would just be a form of light - and unending supply of energy powering it. And each portion of this circular marquee would display a message in the language of its locality at any given moment - the messages changing depending on the goings-on of the times - but always re-affirming My existence to everyone.

"God's message of the day - a cleanly nose is next to a Godly nose."

My hypothesis is that if a man actually was born on the earth from a virgin, acquired incredible magical powers, healed lepers, spread around endless baskets of instantaneous fish and bread, healed the blind etc. etc. that there would be no human being who would actually want to crucify him. In fact, the moment he healed those lepers and created that food, word would spread so fast across the empire that he would probably instantly be carted away to Rome in a royal litter, and put into a high position of power. Or, am I mistaken?
Yes, I believe you are. When people see someone like that, they get powerful and power corrupts. The pontiffs and Caesars or Rome would have been threatened and when threatened, they remove the threat, or iow, kill them.

Once we describe a Goddess whose single most famous act was impaling herself on her dead husband's magically animated artificial phallus as a "virgin", I think it is safe to say that history, if not rationality, has gone out the window.
