New Australian Vaccination Policy

Australia to stop welfare cash of anti-vaccine parents - BBC News

I think this is a really good policy and, frankly, allowing such people to get off lightly since I personally believe that people who refuse to vaccinate their children should have said children taken away from them. By not vaccinating your children you risk their lives, and the lives of all other children they come into contact with.

Fantastic! If you're born into a poor family and the idiots who weren't smart enough to avoid having a child they couldn't afford are also dumb enough to believe vaccines are bad, the government will try to starve you to death! Maybe if the kids live long enough to get to school you can hang a sign on them that says "Unclean" and make them all sit in a room together!

Assuming this kills anyone, it'll kill far less than anti-vaxxer bull****.

Yeah, but it'll harm the kid, not the parent. If you're dumb enough to put your child at risk because vaccines are evil, you're dumb enough to allow them to starve.

Instead, how about mandatory removal of the child by Social Services until the vaccine is administered?

I would approve of that.

Can't think of any reason why this would be a bad idea. Those that refuse to vaccinate their kids due to the "risks" expose the children of others to insurmountable risk that the state then has to clean up in the end. Bravo, Australia!!

Or ... more realistically, it might make parents question the vaccine conspiracy a bit before buying into it.

I would genuinely like to believe that is true, but I doubt it. In my experience, only smart questions itself. Stupid is always certain that it's right.

It is ironically like those that complain about the media. "I don't trust the media unless its the media telling me that the media is not to be trusted."

So i guess you're all Obamacare supporters, that support the governments right to force you to have health care.

Did you just say "Force you to be healthy", or "Force you to live pain and disease free"? From here all I heard clearly was some laughable lack of information.

You see a contradiction between the government forcing you to have health care(Obamacare) and the government forcing you to have health care(vaccinations)

Describe what forced to have healthcare means. Forced to be healthy? Forced to avoid sickness and injury? Forced to be able to get sick and not lose everything you own? The monsters!

Here's an interesting question: In the event that a child/children dies from contracting a disease from an unvaccinated child, should the parents of that unvaccinated child stand trial for murder/manslaughter?

How about forced to not inflict your dangerous ideas on other people (particularly children).

If the parents are unfit to raise the child without the help of the government due to anti-vaccine agenda's then they will probably have their children removed anyway.

The concept I think is flawed and I wouldn't have gone so far but I understand the sentiment. This started a few years ago and almost everyone thought of it as a joke. Now they are happening in droves and gaining momentum and dozens of children have died of otherwise preventable diseases and I don't want to see it start reaching the hundreds.

The parents just find work, then their kids don't have to be vaccinated if they don't want it.
