Navaratri?

Hi all-
Ax told me that this festival was happening soon and I wondered if anyone had the dates for the Saraswati puja. I'm really taken with Saraswati and would like to celebrate it somehow. Any info appreciated.

Vasanta Navaratri yes, but the larger one (in most places, there may be exceptions) happens in October. There is lots of on-line information.

I found this. I guess I could figure out the dates from an almanac.

1. Vasanta Navaratri: Vasanta Navaratri, is nine days dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in the month of Chaitra (March–April) and is observed during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) of Chaitra. The beginning of this Navaratri also marks the start of the new year as per the Hindu mythological lunar calendar (Vikrami Samvat).

The Tamil calendar is solar. The other calendar (used for tithi calculations) is actually luni-solar. The luni-solar calendar is mostly based on the moon's movement, but they also include an occasional 13th month to keep the calendar from shifting (like with the Islamic lunar Calendar). This way, the Indian new-year will always happen in the range of March/April. while the Islam new year (and consequently, all their months and festivals) will keep shifting over time.

I do not know if a day, out of the nine dedicated to Chaitra[-Fagun] Navratri, is dedicated to Devi Shri Saraswati. However, you may find this interesting: Chaitra Navratri 2015 - Chait Navratras in 2015 ~ Hindu Blog.

We celebrate it twice a year, it started yesterday, worship Durga the first 3 days, then Lakshmi for three and then the last 3 days is for Saraswati.
