This is schedule of the crucifixion of Jesus and His resurrection:
Thursday, 1 BC 08-17, crucifixion of Jesus, preparation day, market opened in morning
Friday, 1 BC 08-18, first day of Jesus in sepulcher, New Moon Festival, a high sabbath, market closed
Saturday, 1 BC 08-19, second day of Jesus in sepulcher, regular weekly sabbath of the Jews, market closed
Sunday, 1 BC 08-20, third day of Jesus in sepulcher, sabbath of the followers on Jesus, market opened
Monday, 1 BC 08-21, resurrection on Jesus, discovery of the missing corpse of Jesus, market opened

He was crucified on a Thursday. Day after crucifixion was a high day and a sabbath (John 19:31). There were three days and three nights that Jesus was in the sepulcher (Matthew 12:40). Mary Magdalene et al. bought the sweet spices after their sabbath that Sunday (Mark 16:1). The discovery of the missing corpse of Jesus in the sepulcher was on a Monday, the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:2, Luke 24:1, John 20:1). In winter, shops were opened from sunrise to sunset. However, in summer when it is hot in the afternoon, shops were opened from sunrise to about noon, and from about 3 to 4 pm until about 30 minutes to one hour after the sun had set.

Yes, Jesus Christ was crucified on a Thursday. Not on a Friday as what the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) and most other churches believe (Good Friday), but on a Thursday. Because they could not explain what Jesus said in Matthew 12:40—three days and three nights or 72 hours, and not about 36 hours for a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection, some proponents say that it was a Wednesday that Jesus was crucified to overcome this objection, but there is a hole. And that is Friday, the Preparation Day for the weekly Saturday sabbath. Did you get what I mean? Why is Friday a hole?

The spirit of Ama said that Jesus was crucified and died on 08-17. Without the year. Just 08-17. But 08-17 is a summer’s day and not a spring day. How could Passover be in summer and not in spring? From “Panambitan” (Pleading), I got the year, 1 BC. It was a sermon of Ama in 1974 which I copied from old members in 1983. That means, He died 1,974 years ago. So I tried as His crucifixion, 1 BC 08-17. Karl Palmen, a member of the calendar discussion group where I participate also, explained in February 2003 that 1 BC 08-17 was a Tuesday in the Julian Calendar, a Thursday in the proleptic Gregorian Calendar, and a Saturday in the proleptic Aristean Calendar that I am proposing. I was insisting that the date must be Friday as what the RCC believe. It was six months later, in August 2003, that I tried that the date was a Thursday. And presto, everything came into place!

It cannot be a Friday crucifixion because Friday crucifixion to Sunday resurrection is only about 36 hours, whereas Jesus said in Matthew 12:40 that “the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” That is 72 hours, and not about 36 hours only.

Why is Friday a hole? Because Friday is Preparation Day for next day’s sabbath. In a Preparation Day, the market is opened only in the morning and closed in the afternoon. Therefore, Mary Magdalene et al. (Mark 16:1) could had bought the sweet spices that morning and could had gone to the sepulcher after buying, or had the whole afternoon to go to the sepulcher to anoint Jesus. Why wait for two more days?

Doesnt BC mean 'before Christ'

So i dont think Jesus was put to death before he was born.

The scriptures say Jesus was 30 years old when he began his ministry, and his ministry lasted approx 3 and half years, so he would have died in the year 33CE.

Yes, BC means Before Christ. 1 BC 08-17 is equivalent to 3760 Av 30 in the Jewish calendar. It is the point in time when Jesus was crucified. We call it BC because Dionysius Exiguus assumed that the birth of Jesus was on 1 BC 12-25, more than 500 years after the fact.

Yes, Jesus began His ministry when He was 30 years old and lasted for aproximately three and a half years. Did you know that the time said in the Holy Bible is using the lunar calendar where 33 lunar years (354 days in a lunar year) is equal to 32 solar years (365 days in a solar year)?

Yes i know the jews were using a lunar calendar back then. But didnt they also use a method of adjusting the shorter year to ensure that the offering of the firstfruits and the second grain offering in the month of Nisan would be offered during the harvest as commanded by the law?
If they didnt adjust it, then they would have been having the festival a month before the offerings could be harvested....and that would mean no offering for the festival.

But what does this shorter lunar year have to do with your 1bc for Christs death anyway??

1 BC 08-17 is the date that the spirit of Ama said that Jesus was crucified and died. This is equivalent to 3760 Av 30 in the Jewish calendar. It is that point in time when Jesus was crucified.

It is wrong to assume that the date 1 BC 08-17 was before Jesus was even born, allegedly on 1 BC 12-25. In the first place, 1 BC 12-25 as the birth of Jesus, was determined more than 500 years after the fact. Would you be certain that Jesus was really born on 1 BC 12-25?

8-8-8

The Jews were using two types of lunar calendars during the time of Jesus—a purely lunar calendar with 354-355 days in one lunar year, and a lunisolar calendar with 353-385 days in one lunar year. It is the second type that you are talking about which was adjusted on the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, 19th years in a 19-year Metonic Cycle. People do not know that the Jews used a purely lunar calendar at all. They assumed that the Jews had been using a lunisolar calendar since their departure from Egypt, but their assumption was not correct.

Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Pesach) were in the purely lunar calendar, whereas New Year’s Day (Rosh Hashanah), Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), Festival of Shelters or Ingathering or Tabernacles (Sukkoth) were in the lunisolar calendar.

The purely lunar calendar was used from Exodus until the Reformation in 358/359 AD, whereas the lunisolar calendar was adopted from the Babylonians during the seventh century BC when the Jews were exiled in Babylonia and was used until the Reformation of the Jewish calendar. Hence, during the time of Jesus, two types of calendars were used by the Jews.

Significance or importance of crucifixion

I would like to share to you what the spirit of Ama said about the significance or importance of the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.

The original text in Filipino is inhttp://aristean.org/transcript001.hm. You may hear the audio inhttp://aristean.org/e01b-pah3.mp3.

Here is my translation to English:

"The first and unique answer there [the cross of martyrdom] is to bear the suffering. Endure the suffering. Do not just throw away the cross. How do you throw away your cross of suffering? Disregard it. Deem not to understand it. This is what is meant by throwing away the cross, and not the place of suffering. Is that how we have to treat it? No.

"Pray and ask God to remove these sufferings, and resolve the difficulties, which are supposed to be our happiness.

"Therefore, Jesus is showing and showed humanity how He loves people.

"Jesus showed how people should bear sufferings.

"Jesus showed patience.

"Jesus showed how important every human soul is. For if the soul of man is worthless, He would not have accepted to be crucified.

"Why is His accepting to be crucified He was able to explain how important the human soul is? Because of the sins of man, because of the sins of man which can’t be avoided, Jesus did the bearing of the sufferings.

"He showed people that because He is God who loves the people, and He became incarnate, He showed what people should do. That is what it means. This is what you should do. Bear the sufferings.

“So He showed how He accepted the scourging.

“He showed how he accepted the crucifixion nails.

“He showed that He died.

“But He also showed that He resurrected after He died.

“So Jesus Christ accepted the crucifixion nails to show how much man must bear sufferings. Accordingly, Jesus Christ accepted the crucifixion nails until He died, that man must endure until he dies. And Jesus also showed that He resurrected and that is what will happen to people, that when man endures hardships and sufferings until he dies, this person will be resurrected to be with him.”

Two nails for the feet of Jesus

Did you know that when Jesus was crucified, two nails were used for His feet? Why? Because He was at the center of two thieves (John 19:18). The thief to His right, Dimas, had his right foot over his left foot. Only one nail was used to nail his feet. The thief to His left, Hestas, had his left foot over his right foot. Only one nail was used to nail his feet. Dimas’ and Hestas’ feet were to face the center. Also, why Jesus was at the center, it was their [the Jews’] total humiliation of Jesus. (Pasiong Mahal, pp 159-162)

Although Jesus was crucified with Dimas and Hestas, two malefactors or criminals, He was not the head of their criminal activity.

Who owns the sepulcher?

Accounts in the Holy Bible about Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus are in Matthew 27:58, 60; Mark 15:42-43, 46; Luke 23:50-51; John 3:1-21, 19:38-39, 41-42.

Matthew 27:60 says that Joseph of Arimathaea owned the sepulcher where Jesus was laid to rest, but he was not. The spirit of Ama told us (plural) that Nicodemus owned it. It is logical to believe Ama because Nicodemus was from Jerusalem. He was a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin. He was a rich person who could afford to buy such a sepulcher. Nicodemus “brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pound weight” (John 19:39), which was costly.

Joseph of Arimathaea was an honorable counsellor (Mark 15:43) not residing in Jerusalem but in Arimathaea so he won’t be buying a sepulcher there (Luke 23-51). Arimathaea is generally considered to be the modern Rentis, about 35 km NW of Jerusalem or about a day’s walk away.

Burial of Jesus

According to the spirit of Ama, there were only seven people who went to the burial of Jesus Christ in the sepulcher of Nicodemus. They were:
1. Mary, the mother of Jesus;
2. Mary Magdalene;
3. Mary, the wife of Cleophas (John 19:25), (maybe the mother of James and Joseph – Matthew 27:56 and Mark 15:40);
4. The Samaritan woman;
5. John the Baptist;
6. Joseph of Arimathaea; and
7. Nicodemus.

Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus removed the crucifixion nails of Jesus, and the placed the corpse of Jesus on the lap of His Mother (“Pieta”). The Pharisees immediately seized the body which the Blessed Virgin Mary hanged on. The Pharisees didn’t want that the body of Jesus to be buried even in the cemetery for strangers. That is why Jesus was buried in the sepulcher of nicodemus. Then the Pharisees left.

These are in http://aristean.org/pahayag080.htm and pages 170-174 of Pasiong Mahal, all in the Filipino language.

LONGINUS, THE CENTURION WHO PIERCED JESUS

What is the name of the centurion who pierced the side of Jesus with his lance? His name is Longinus.

The story of the centurion is found in Matthew 27:54, Mark 15:39, Luke 23:47, and John 19:34. Longinus delivered the coup de grace by piercing the side of Jesus to prove that he was brave and to be sure that Jesus would soon die when He said in Luke 23:46, “Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.” FYI, Jesus died at exactly 12 noon.

Why did Jesus accept to be pierced? So that He can wash us with His blood and water. Did Jesus retaliate to Longinus with a sulk? Did Jesus retaliate with a grudge or ill feeling? Did Jesus retaliate with hatred? What Jesus retaliated to Longinus was love because He gave him healing. Jesus made his one eye that could see to be two. And Longinus had salvation without end because Jesus retaliated to him was love, affection.

THE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE OF JUDAS ISCARIOT

The attempted suicide of Judas Iscariot is in two verses of the Holy Bible. Matthew 27:5 of the King James Version states: “And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.” Acts 1:18 states: “Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity, and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.”

According to the spirit of Ama, Judas Iscariot was hit by lightning. Lightning was what killed him. His being remorseful by trying to commit suicide by hanging was thwarted. How could a person hanged himself and fell headlong or headfirst? How could a person burst open in the middle, before he hit the ground, and “all his bowels gushed out”? Ama is right, isn’t it? Judas must be hit by lightning.
The apostle Peter said that Jesus promised His twelve apostles including Judas Iscariot that they would be with Him in Heaven (Acts 1:17). Judas had a role to play – to betray our Lord Jesus – to fulfil the scripture. That was his role. And God did not allow him to die by suicide.

Ama told us (plural) that suicide is unpardonable. If Judas was successful in committing suicide, he could not enter the kingdom of God in Heaven.
The commission of attempted suicide happened in summer. Would you expect lightning to happen in summer. Is there anything impossible with God?

WAS JESUS CRUCIFIED AT PASSOVER?

At present, Passover is on Nisan 14, and it is mandated in the Holy Bible that it will be on the fourteenth day of the first month (Exodus 12:6, 18; Leviticus 23:5; Numbers 9:3, 5, 11, 28:16; Joshua 5:10; 2 Chronicles 30:15, 35:1; Ezra 6:19; and Ezekiel 45:21).

Here are verses that the chief priests, Pharisees, scribes, and elders of the people say that Jesus was not to be killed during the Passover Festival (14th to the 21st):
Matthew 26:5 –But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there by an uproar among the people.
Mark 14:2 – But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
Luke 22:2 – And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him [Jesus]; for they feared the people.

What happened to Jesus was similar to what happened to Peter in Acts 12:3-4, to wit:
3 And because he [Herod] saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread).
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Did you know that when they crucified Jesus, it was AFTER the Passover Festival when most people, especially pilgrims, had already left Jerusalem? Did you know that the spirit of Ama said that He was crucified on 08-17? The equivalent of 08-17 in the Jewish calendar is Av 30. I was able to prove that 08-17 is correct.

IN WHICH GATE DID JESUS PASS THROUGH IN GOING TO THE CRUCIFIXION SITE?

There are several gates to the city of Jerusalem. One of the gates was called the Horse Gate. It is in 2 Chronicles 23:15; Jeremiah 31:40; and Nehemiah 3:28. It was located on the eastern wall facing the Kidron Valley and the Mount of Olives. Near the Horse Gate was Fortress Antonia built by King Herod the Great in honor of Mark Anthony on the northwest corner of the temple to house the soldiers, and police the activities in the temple area. It was razed to the ground together with the temple by the Romans during the first century AD.

The Horse Gate is now known as St Stephen’s Gate. And there is no more Fortress Antonia. Via Dolorosa or The Way of the Cross followed the alleged route of Jesus bearing the cross on His back from Fortress Antonia to the place of His crucifixion at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. But it is a wrong route because Jesus was not crucified where the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is. It should be in the opposite direction. He went out through the Horse Gate from Fortress Antonia to the crucifixion site outside the city of Jerusalem, and crossed the Kidron Valley to the other side. According to Jewish tradition, which was strictly observed in Jesus’ time, the place of execution and of burial would have to be outside the city.

Kidron Valley crossed on way to the crucifixion site

Here is the rainfall in mm every month of the year of Jerusalem:
January – 142.2
February – 114.3
March – 99.1
April – 30.5
May – 2.5
June – 0
July – 0
August – 0
September – 0
October – 22.9
November – 68.8
December – 109.2

Source: The Weather Channel

We will note that there is no rainfall from June to September.

There maybe streams in Kidron Valley that feed it that the spirit of Ama said that the soldiers used the cross of Jesus as a bridge. So it does not dry up completely during the rainless season. During the rainy season from October to April, the stream of Kidron Valley becomes a torrent that it becomes dangerous to cross lest one maybe swept away. When Jesus crossed the Kidron Valley from Jerusalem to Bethany, Mount of Olives, and Garden of Gethsemane and back, it was summer.

Not only the Kidron Valley indicates that it was summer and not spring when Jesus was crucified and died, the stories in the Holy Bible about the naked man (Mark 14:50-52), the cursing of the fig tree (Mark 11:12-14, 20-22; Matthew 21:18-20; and the naked Peter in the morning (John 21:7) attest to this.

Simon of Cyrene

The story about Simon of Cyrene is in Matthew 27:32, Mark 15:21, and Luke 23:26. John did not give an account about him.

The crucifixion site is just about 2 km from the gate of the city where they came out and yet it took three days to traverse it because Jesus was too weak in the scourging at the pillar that He received and could hardly walk. On the third day, they compelled Simon of Cyrene who happened to pass by coming out of the country to bear the cross of Jesus to the Crucifixion site at Mount Calvary which is called by the Jews as Golgotha.

They hurried up the nailing of Jesus on the cross because soon, it would be high day sabbath (John 19:31). Also, it was already the third day since they led Jesus out of Fortress Antonia beside the temple in the city.

If Jesus was crucified on the third hour (9am), Simon of Cyrene must be in the area earlier that day. It might be the first hour (7am). What was Simon of Cyrene doing in that part of the city? I guess Simon was an overseas worker working in Cyrene (now Libya), like many Filipinos today who are working in many parts of the world. Aside from attending the Passover Festival, he visited his family. His sons Alexander and Rufus (Mark 15:21) were living in the Jerusalem area and were disciples of Jesus (Pasiong Mahal, page 153).

@Jayhawker Soule
So you are a Jew, a believer of Judaism. Did you know that the Jews celebrated the fast of Esther in Nisan and not in Adar?

The fast of Esther occurred after the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians during the seventh century BC. When Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians, Zechariah in chapter 8 verse 19 mentioned only four fasts as follows:
1. The fast of the fourth month (Tammuz 17, Shiva, ‘Asar be-Tammuz’),
2. The fast of the fifth (Av 9, ‘Tisha be-Av’);
3. The fast of the seventh (Tishri 3, Fast of Gedaliah or ‘Tzom Gedaliahu’); and
4. The fast of the tenth (Tevet 10, ‘Asara be-Tevet’).

The fast of Esther must have been instituted at a later date when the Jews returned from Babylonia after their exile there.

The first century historian Flavius Josephus wrote in Antiquities , Book XVII, Chapter 6, Section 4: “Now it happened, that during the time of the high priesthood of this Matthias, there was another person made high priest for a single day, that very day which the Jews observed as a fast. The occasion was this: This Matthias the high priest, on the night before that day when the fast was to be celebrated, seemed, in a dream, to have conversation with his wife; and because he could not officiate himself on that account, Joseph, the son of Ellemus, his kinsman, assisted him in that sacred office. But Herod deprived this Matthias of the high priesthood, and burnt the other Matthias, who had raised the sedition, with his companions, alive. And that very night there was an eclipse of the moon.”

When does a lunar eclipse occur? It occurs only when the moon is full. The full moon occurs on the 15th of the Jewish month. This full moon occurred in the month of Nisan. And we know that of the four fasts that Zechariah mentioned, nothing occurred in the Jewish month of Nisan and on the 15th. This fast of Esther must be that fast that Josephus was referring to.

The fast of Esther was held before on Nisan 15 (Esther 3:12, 4:16). When the Passover Festival was fixed on Nisan 14-21 during the Jewish reformation of the Jewish calendar in 358/359 AD, the fast of Esther was moved to Adar 13 to be with the associated Feast of Lots or Purim.
