The 'Magi', being the first to anoint Jeshua, are not supposed to be viewed negatively, as 'pagans' opposed to Xianity, that's ridiculous. In fact one of the 'issues' here is that the divinity from birth is different from the 'divinity from Johns baptism' scenario that is sometimes presented. You can't really have a 'normal carpenter Rabbi' who is worshipped at birth, hence the 'problem' of the Magi for "humanistic Jesus" xians.

The Magi did NOT anoint Jesus.Anointing only can be done by God or those He chooses to do so, literally with oil, like when Samuel anointed Saul and King David. The Magi were astrologers and pagans. Not God's people.Jesus was anointed with God's holy spirit.
  • Matthew 3:16 After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God’s spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him.

Jesus was anointed as the Christ by God with holy spirit, not oil.

Pulled some short hairs there didn't I ??
I think someone has their God and their Savior confused with reality.
Not that this is reality or anything even similar, but is fun !

That's all good and well, but the term "annointed ones" refers to those annointed with holy spirit, at the direction of Jesus, using God's holy spirit. Being so annointed, they became the first of the 144,000. The only ones from Earth to go to heaven. Naysay all you want, but it doesn't change the truth. If you want to turn your back on our sovereign ruler, God the Almighty, Jehovah of Armies, it's your choice, albeit a suicidal choice.

I like how my last post was avoided :p.

If only 144,000 are being saved, out of the 7.125 billion people on earth (0.002% of the population). Why attempt to prove to others your way is right? Surely there are 144000 "true" believers already, which means everyone else is doomed to be locked out of heaven anyways *shrug*.

Or is it an Ego thing? You 'have' to be right? And the bigger your numbers the more correct you are?

I hear you saying it is works which save a person.* Also I hear you saying as long as a person does the works and sides with the governing body with what they are right about that is all a person must do. It doesn't matter if they are wrong about anything. But for us it means condemnation to be wrong about anything you believe you are right about.

*pray, read, study daily, attend meetings, go door to door and do as the govening body commands
James 2:17 says: 14-17
14 Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15 If a brother or a sister is lacking clothing and enough food for the day, 16 yet one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but you do not give them what they need for their body, of what benefit is it? 17 So, too, faith by itself, without works, is dead.

Now, the governing body does not "command" anything. They are fellow workers in Jehovah, not bosses, lords, leaders, or superiors. They are of the annointed however. They are of the 144,000. They are just like you and me. Simple everyday people whom Jehovah has chosen as part of the firstfruits of mankind. Your denegration of them is unwarranted, as it most likely comes from the false teachings of false religions. Read Galations 5:19-21 where it describes some of the works of the flesh. It reads:
19 Now the works of the flesh are plainly seen, and they are sexual immorality, uncleanness, brazen conduct, 20 idolatry, spiritism, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, dissensions, divisions, sects, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and things like these. I am forewarning you about these things, the same way I already warned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

You see that sects (in the KJV it reads
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.) are works of the flesh. Sects, divisions of religion are not tolerated by God the Almighty, Jehovah. Your take on scriptures does appear to come from those sects of Christianity (actually called Christendom, a melding of Christian and pagan beliefs). It is wise to ignore religions, and to rely solely on the inspired word of God for ACCURATE information. Of course, if accurate information isn't what you seek, then we have nothing more to discuss.

The narrative I'm referring to is in the Bible. So, you are essentially saying this part of the Bible is fictional addition? What portions of the Bible do you think are false?

No one is "trying to prove your way is right". It is an attempt to show the truth to others, so that if their heart is honest, they may seek God, and truth, and salvation. As far as heaven goes, the 144,000 are transformed into spirit beings, as humans have no immortal soul with which to enter heaven. When we die, nothing survives, so there is no "locked out of heaven" at all. Jehovah didn't promise us heaven, and there isn't a hell to send a non-existent immortal soul to. He is a god of love, and wouldn't torture anyone. You cling to lies of religion, and ignore the truth of God's inspired word. Try reversing that, and your eyes may be opened to some truth. Everyone isn't doomed to be locked out, they are doomed to eternal destruction. All others are promised a resurrection to a paradise Earth.

Mike, you know the "beliefs" of the "governing body" and this discussion is just the "tip of the iceberg". The Scriptures identified them as "wise men" and they did visit and "worship" Jesus.

They did not worship him. They did obeisance to him.

Matthew 2:11 And when they went into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and falling down, they did obeisance to him. They also opened their treasures and presented him with gifts—gold and frankincense and myrrh.

Obeisance:
deferential respect:they paid obeisance to the prince.• a gesture expressing deferential respect, such as a bow or curtsy

What are you reading? It's not the scriptures.

Again, why preach the truth, when it does not matter? You have your views and your 144,000 take then to heaven when you dies and be done with it. When is the 144000, supposed to go to heaven? Is it the 144000 that die this year, or next year? Or maybe 500 years from now? If you don't get there does that mean you are wrong?
If I follow your way and don't get there, how do I know you are right? I will just cease to be either way. Might as well stick with my religious truths, instead of your religious falsehoods (IMO), I'm gunna cease to exist anyways, right?

God anointed Jesus... Shortly after the Pentecost of 33 C.E. the disciples in prayer to God said, "For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate with men of the nations and with peoples of Israel were gathered together in this city against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,.." -Acts 4:27

Upon their death, since the beginning of the Christian congregation, they were taken there. About 6,000 remain on Earth. Just prior to the final battle, the remaining ones will be taken to heaven. This is what religions falsely claim is a "rapture", and they think they ALL will be taken out of their clothes there, when that's impossible. When? No one knows when or what time, but all of the signs, but one, have been fulfilled, that foretell it's about to happen. Could be any time now. Most likely very very soon. Now, it's not "my way", it's the way of our creator, our sovereign ruler, Jehovah God. Do what you feel like, or do what God requires, and live forever in paradise. Your choice. Simply because one isn't part of the 144,000 co-rulers with Jesus, doesn't mean they cease to exist. They have the opportunity to live forever in paradise and peace and love. You too have that opportunity.

I think you mean that is not how your version of The Bible says God views it.

What I mean is that God's inspired word says that. Stop with your religion induced prejudice against God's Named People, His Earthly organization. The only ones on Earth doing His will. The same will you are supposed to be doing, but refuse to.

Mike, the Inspired word of GOD the Bible (KJV) has the word "birthdays" listed within its pages twice---and neither of them say not to worship one's birthday. That is a corruption of/by your "governing body" to claim it is scriptural to NOT celebrate such.

GOD'S named people are Believers/obedient ones/Lovers of GOD/the overcomer and ye(all) who hear and obey/do are my witnesses.

Bible student,. the Bible, Old and New Testament, were written by simple, almost uneducated people. When you start reading the Bible, sincerely ask God, to reveal to you what he is trying to say .if you do this in trust and faith, you will see how simple and understandable the Word is. If you continue doing this every time you read it, God our Father, will reveal to you more and more. Just trust Him and try it in good faith,.and Good luck and God bless you in the hours when you do your studying☺

I have and I do brother.I pray, read and study daily. That is why my name is Bible Student.I beg Him for understanding and He has revealed much.I compare scripture and read excessively.I see what the word of God says and then I see who is doing what He truly commands. It is very easy to see who is really representing God and doing what He commands.

The King James is NOT the inspired word of God. It is chock full of mistranslations. Changing one word changes everything. KJV contains the word "hell" also. It never appeared in the original texts from which the scriptures are translated. Does that make hell exist? Certainly not.

The Magi worshipped Jeshua, so much for 'pagans' who were a negative part of the narrative.

They were pagans. They were astrologers.God does not like astrology.Looking to stars for answers is not something God's people do.They rely on God for answers as did Daniel.

  • James 4:14 whereas you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears.
  • Proverbs 3:5, 6. 5 Trust in Jehovah+ with all your heart,

And do not rely on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways take notice of him,

And he will make your paths straight.

    • Deuteronomy 18:10-12. 10 There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, anyone practicing magic, anyone who looks for omens, a sorcerer,11 anyone binding others with a spell, anyone who consults a spirit medium or a fortune-teller, or anyone who inquires of the dead.12
For whoever does these things is detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable practices Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you.

Yes,the KJV bible has many flaws, but my favorite scriptures in it though are: Exodus 6:3,Psalm 83:18.Isaiah 12:2; 26:4.
