Kippot, Tzitzit in public

Just curious if anyone else out there wears Kippot (Yarmulke) and/or tzitzit on a regular basis?

I have been wearing my Kippot everyday since 2006 when I made Aliyah. I used to wear Tzitzit (in the form of a tallit katan) regularly but it became too much of a hassle to keep them clean and in good condition so I haven't worn them, save for the Tallit I use when I daven.

I am kinda religious but I don't really consider myself orthodox (or anything else for that matter) so I just usually wear a cap out in public, though I have been thinking about wearing a kippah as of late.

I wear a hat sometimes myself, especially since coming back to the States. But after living in Israel for several years, I can't imagine not wearing a Kippah where-ever I go.

Of course it always leads to, what I call, "Shalom Moments" when people randomly say "Shalom" to me on the street or ask questions like, "are you jewish? Does that thing on your head mean you are jewish?" haha sometimes I want to be like, "no, just that part of my head is cold" haha

I almost always keep my head covered, but it's not always a kippah. Sometimes I wear a baseball hat, and often I wear a bandana as a do-rag. But sometimes I wear my kippah out and about. I wore it much more often when I lived in Israel. But I do sometimes wear it here in the States.

I don't wear tzitzit (tallit katan) because I find them extremely irritating, itchy and annoying at best, and prone to be hot and sweaty: I just make the brachah when I put on my regular tallis for davening, get yotzei that way.

I wear a kippa always, but not tzitzit. I work around pumps, motors, and other machinery, and having long dangling things is a really, really bad idea.

The kippa gets me a lot of odd looks and can certainly be a conversation starter ( sometimes good, sometimes not).

I used to wear a tallit katan that was very light and basically a mesh material so I wouldn't be sweaty and itchy in it.

Yes, I used to wear a tallit katan, but all of them basically fell apart.

Here's a related question, are you an 'in-y' or an 'out-y'. I kept mine inside, always felt them there anyways.

when I wore my Tallit Katan, I was always an "out-y", based on the passage of "Oritem Oto", that you should see them

I cannot imagine a God that is not at least partially responsible for my evolving bald spot. If He does't like what he sees, it's His problem.
