According to Credit Suisse's global wealth report, American's net worth is $44.900 per adult. Placing the US in 19th place in the world. If you don't include the wealthy, the net worth for the rest is probably around $34,000.

Do you have a source or the hard data? I seem to recall numbers that suggest that the disparity of value would be much bigger.

I find the reduction of humans - or any living or non-living thing for that matter - down to a dollar sign to be disturbing. Thus, I have to apologize for the fact that I attach no meaningfulness whatsoever to this kind of assessment, with or without proper citation.

Why don't we compare apples to apples, and leave out Kuwait and Monte Carlo. Where does the USA place among countries with over a quarter billion in population?

The measurement isn't for determining how much people cost, it's for determining how much people own.

Probably because you don't need money yourself, that you are independently wealthy
