The Neverending Story

Has anybody of you read The Neverending Story by Michael Ende? I read about some rumors about its alleged Satanic content. The only thing I recognize is the word Moonchild which IMHO has something to do with Aleister Crowley. I'd be happy if some expert could help me out.

Why's "moonchild" associated with Crowley, and why's this in the Satanic DIR specifically?

I watched the movie(s?) many years ago as a child, and other than the giant flying dog I don't remember anything about it.

Here’s what I found on Moonchild and Aleister Crowley:
The Moonchild rituals are the rituals to demonize a fetus .. Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) was a Satanist who was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Freemason. He also was a leader in a number of other Masonic rites as well as an OTO leader, a chief in Stella Matutina, and a MI-6 (Br. overseas intelligence) agent. His writings have been important within 20th century Satanism and with black magicians. He wrote Moonchild, first published in 1917.
The idea of the Moonchild is that by use of black magic, a perfect soul can be captured. The belief in reincarnation, which is prevalent among the Illuminati and Satanic groups, lends itself to the belief that souls compete for a particular embryo. On page 107- 108 of Moonchild, the idea is expressed,
“To produce a man who should not be bound up in his heredity, and should have the environment which they desired for him.”

I've read it and it is one of my favorites.

While it's been a long time I honestly didn't pick up on any Satanist things, but then again, I wasn't looking for anything and I don't really know what qualifies. I saw it as an epic fantasy novel. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don’t think that The Neverending Story is satanic per se but I got the impression that Ende takes symbols from Satanism and gives them a new meaning. “Moonchild”, Bastian’s task of finding his True Will and the inscription on the back of Auryn "Do What thou wilt" are all Crowley concepts, but as usual it’s the question how the reader interprets them.
