ravi ji has just posted this most beautifull verse from the Srimad Bhagavatam (11.14.24) ......

One whose throat is choked by emotions at the height of devotional ecstasy; one who sheds tears of bliss because the heart has become absorbed in bliss; one who bursts out laughing in the intoxication of supreme devotion; one who, giving up all false modesty, sings loudly
and dances -- such a person purifies the whole world.

.......which just makes me think it is time for a kirtan party , .....

please join in ...post your favorite most joyfull bhajans for everyone to enjoy , let us all share wonderfull kirtan together and purify the ''whole world''......

Vanakkam Ratikala,

What a wonderful thread! Kirtan is on of my favorite ways of connected with the Lord (puja is the other). Here are couple of my favorites.

This first one has a special place in my heart as it was the first time I was really introduced to Krishna and it moved me so much!

Krishna Das - All One ( Hare Krishna ) Full Version - YouTube

And this one isn't quite kirtan but it is so blissful- Narayana Kavacham

Sri Narayana Kavacham - UmaMohan- - YouTube

This one has beautiful scenes :)

Shriman Narayan Narayan Hari Hari I Hari Dhun By Suresh Wadkar - YouTube

Namaste,

Very nice to see (and hear) such spirit of celebration; I hope it will not spoil the mood if I add some bhajans showing different languages, different styles, some many miles
apart, but all praising Devi..

Here is a sweet poem of a great devotee of the Lord which I would like to share here. :namaste

When will I hear

the auspicious names of Kanna

sounding in my ears?

And upon hearing them

when will my hairs stand on end

And I will be immersed in tears?

Being immersed in tears, when will I become pure?

And in that state of absolute purity,

When will I sing His names

spontaneously?

And as I sing in ecstasy,

When will I forget the earth and the sky?

And forgetting everything

when will I dance

in utter devotion?

And as I dance,

will my steps

sweep the stains

from the stage of the world?

In that playful dance

in which I sweep all stains away,

I will cry out loud

And through that cry,

Will my purity be sent

in the eight directions?

And when the play has been enacted

When will I fall at last

into my Mother's lap?

And lying on my Mother's lap

when will I sleep blissfully?

As I sleep

when will I dream

of the beautiful form of Sri Krishna

Who dwells within my heart ?

And as I wake up

when will I see Sri Krishna,

The enchanter of the world?

I'm Saivite, but I love some of the Vaishnava bhajans to Krishna, especially some of the newer ones...

Ever since Lagaan this by the delightful Lata Mangeshkar

And this:

I suppose my absolute favourite Bhajan of all time is the traditional Hara Hara Amarnathe Gange, Kashi Vishwanath Gange. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ue0lrdlzqM

I suppose for me, it isn't so much the words (because for the most part Hindi Bhajans I don't understand fully, and sanskrit bhajans I use in my own practice are chanted mantras) but it's the energy of a song that gets me going. The American musician Krishna Das, devotee of Guru Neem Karoli Baba really has a great sense of energy, even in his recordings. There are two particular favorites:

A particularly energetic version of the Hare Krishna MahaMantra:

And a rendition of Aum Namah Shivaya which is so powerful to listen to, the way he builds the energy up! Gets me going everytime. It became a very important part of my practice this particular rendition.

Divosūnupriyaḥ
Oh gosh that annoys me because they carelessly mix up verses of the achyutAShTakam (I have OCD, lol); anyway, isn't it by an Art of Living singer?
I also really like this
Nepali Teej song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxckvkOhqFc
There is absolutely no bhakti in that song; I just see kAm and lAlach (perhaps if you understood all of the lyrics you would know what I'm talking about, :))..

ps please Jaskaran Prabhu can you tell me how to post the video as you do ?
praNAm,
Put that stuff after v= in (youtube)....(/youtube) tags (except with brackets, i.e. [] rather than parentheses).
So for your video, you would write it like ""
