I believe if somebody is believing in truth their life and everythin in it is suppose to be affected by its beauty.
So how is your religion helping you to age gracefully?

By not enshrining vanity in the first place or worshiping the appearance of youth as the pinnacle standard of beauty.

Funny you all thought it was a physical aspect I was questioning.:) Perhaps it is a language thing but I dont necessarily mean the physical. Fine you want to include that aspect too but I am asking how your life is getting better and better believing what you believe as you get old.

Hmm... I'm not sure my generally nihilistic outlook on life does much for my well-being. But, then again, what can ya do?

You can try some religions. :-D
But up until now we have some big butts and an unwrinkled face..if those are what you want.

Hmm... I have. I just don't really see that much value in them. Try to stay in touch with them, since they are ever evolving and affect the world so much. I really don't even see why I should consider religious thought as greater or even equal to other methods of ontology, epistemology, etc.

Well, aging is a physical process, so yeah, that's where my mind logically went? It's not the same as passage of time, which relates more to what you seem to be asking in this latter part of your post.

I don't see my life as getting "better and better" nor "worse and worse." Contemporary Pagans generally view time as cyclical, not linear, so everything else is often understood to operate in cycles. In my tradition, I use the Four Elements as a model for the stages through which a biological organism passes. None of these stages are "better" or "worse" than the others, and they are not a "progression," really. They are just different. And rather than resist or deny the cyclical nature of existence or call one stage "better/worse" than the others, you accept it for what it is and value each of them.

This relates directly to what I said earlier about not enshrining youthfulness and vanity. All physical stages of a person have beauty.

So thinking this way and living according to this understanding is not giving you satisfaction or relief and a sense of nestling into your nest softly and comfortably as time goes by?

Something like that, I suppose. I'm not going to pretend it's necessarily a smooth ride. Though to be honest, age isn't something I obsess on. I have far more pressing matters in life that occupy my attention. Like what kind of tea I should have this afternoon. :D

I suppose that's another thing. Focus is more on the right here and right now and the local environment around you than the back then and tomorrows.

Of course it isnt always smooth for anyone just because of their religion but we should feel it contributes. I think people have forgotten to live the beauty of their religion or they cant find any in it and all they do is to try to defend it to those questioning their beliefs. If only they are truely happy, comfortable with their belief and showed, shared that happiness, comfort and satisfaction in their life, year after year, I think world would age gracefully :)

There certainly are people like that, but I know it's not universal, and I'm pretty sure it's not even a majority. My religion is something I get to see in action every day, because it is a reflection and celebration of life. In all its aspects. :)

But as far as "aging gracefully," to heck with that. I'm not aging gracefully ... I'm not even acknowledging that I'm supposedly a grown-up. ;)

Great! :) I wish I am mistaken really. I hope we have lots of opportunity to hear from you how much you enjoy your religion. :)

What a coincidence!
My religion make yer butt look fat too.
It also makes my breath smell garlicy.

As for aging gracefully, I advise staying spry.
Yes, I've actually been called "spry".
And mentally active all the time. :) giving an instant welcome and an anagram to new comers. :)

I believe the truth will make you look old and decrepit.

This what my beliefs have done to me.
