If the God(s) of the Abrahamic religions were human, how would you describe them as persons?

Not God anymore.
Exactly, it's contradicting one of the most essential traits of God as being supremely transcendent of everything in this world. It's, frankly, the rankest sort of heresy to attribute something from the natural world as God from an Islamic point of view and it's called shirk.

It's akin to asking what if this tree were a rock?

El the wise old stern father figure.

Asherah the beautiful mother.

Yahweh originally like climbing up to mountains to feel the wrath of the storm, as he got older he became the leader of a army and was fierce warrior who ended up loosing more battles then he won.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it works for us, too. Though, of course, I think it's perfectly acceptable for Sunstone to ask the question in a purely philosophical way, for the sake of abstract inquiry.

Moses is like Hitler and Charles Manson rolled into one. He, and his doctrine of terrorism is responsible for around 30 genocides, and countless murders of innocent lives, including sanctioning and condemning Jesus's murder , all in the name of YHWH. Actually, YHWH seems to fit the description of Satan to a T. (no pun intended)

Have you ever picked up a real history book and decided to actually read it?

Not only is your pathetic rant anti Semitic, it was also childish and inaccurate.

And remember, Moses said to his people: "O my people! why do ye vex and insult me, though ye know that I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you?" Then when they went wrong, Allah let their hearts go wrong. For Allah guides not those who are rebellious transgressors. (Surah As Saf)

No really! Moses had 3000 Jews murdered for wanting to worship the golden calf. And let's not forget Zelophehad, the man murdered for innocently picking up sticks, supposedly in defiance to YHWH and Moses (which makes Zelophehad a freedom fighting hero). There are close to 30 genocides in the OT as the Jews rampaged against those based upon their religious beliefs. Moses was a ruthless dictator. Hitler and Charles Manson rolled into one, only Moses was FAR more twisted and evil than those two.

History book? What "History book" would you recommend? You mean the History books that suggest how Egypt NEVER enslaved the Jews, that would suggest that the Bible is nothing but a false, biased media?

Moses and the Exodus have no historicity, historically it never happened.

So your going off on a childish rant for not.

Some of the comments appear to confuse the anthropomorphic symbolism of the Abrahamic religions with God himself. Any defect you can find in this symbolism, is not in the symbol, but the human mind that sees nothing in the symbol. All symbols, even the most advanced philosophical ideas, can only be oriented to Reality, and are never Reality itself. While God, in descending to man, takes on aspects of humanity, he is not limited by symbolic forms. Anthropomorphic symbolism, though it may not be suited to every mentality, is a support for the contemplation of a God that transcends all symbols. It has proven its efficacy to this end by thousands of years of religion practice.

I would describe him as Christianity. If people have hang ups over terminology such as personal emotions, they must not have taken the time to read and understand the entire literary and ideological context. Or the moral of the story as it were.

YHWH is a murderous, jealous , clingy, terrorist with abandonment issues.

You seem to be thinking of the "human YHWH" as characteristically murderous, jealous, clingy, etc.... Is there any difference to your mind between what is characteristic of a human and what is characteristic of an all-encompassing deity? Put slightly differently, does it mean exactly the same thing to describe a human as "characteristically x" and an all-encompassing deity as "characteristically x"?

Also, do you think it's possible that the "characteristics" of the Abrahamic deity(s) might be projections of the observers (such as the Biblical authors) rather than, in any human sense, actual characteristics of the deity(s)?

Just curious how you'd answer all that.

Are you under the impression, then, that Moses is an Abrahamic deity?
