What religions and paths do you mix?

Mine is a mix of Judaism (ethical monotheism), Christianity (original sin, agape), Hinduism (karma and reincarnation), Gnosticism (corruption of the material universe), and Buddhism (meditation practice). I hope the pieces fit together coherently.

Out of the "orthodox" religions my favorite is Judaism, though I can't say I follow it in any meaningful way. Some of my religious inspiration comes from a Greek Orthodox upbringing and Christian mysticism though I am no longer really a follower of Christ. I find gnosticism appealing and fascinating (and I am also interested in Buddhist philosophy wherever it concurs with gnosticism). I suppose you could say that I'm an Abrahamic agnostic gnostic.

For me, I choose: Native-American spirituality, some form of Hinduism, a lot of Buddhism, some Gnosticism, Kabbalah/Qabbalah, some Moorish Science, Sufism, some 5% Knowledge, some Nuwaubian Science, a bit of Luciferianism/Satanism when it comes to the misunderstood subject of Baphomet, Kemitic Science, and a bit of Greek Metaphysics.

I usually hop around, but these are the main standards/beliefs I hold to:

Christianity, Mormonism, Baha'i, Unitarian Universalist, Wicca/Paganism, The Law of Attraction.

Christianity because I was raised with it and no matter how hard I try, I can't leave it. I believe Jesus died for my sins.

Mormonism because I agree that Jesus didn't just minister in just Jerusalem, but around the world, that we lived with God before this life. Also that our bodies are sacred and we should be modest, showing ourselves to only our spouse.

Baha'i because I believe that all religion has some truth and eventually leads down the same path, that there is one God and equality in all religions and people, whether male or female.

Unitarian Universalist because I support everyone to worship how, who, what they may and that we must all encourage each other regardless of our own spiritual path. That no matter what deity we worship or revere, we are all united.

Wicca/Paganism because I believe that everything is in a cycle revolving around nature, the planets, the stars. That every god/goddess/deity has some form of power and truth to them, and that we must care for nature.

The Law of Attraction because I believe that our thoughts and feelings attract things, people, everything. We attract what we want and need through ourselves.

I don't know if I believe the same things as these religions/faiths, but this is what I take from them.

A variety of Buddhism, Unitarian Universalism. Although I was raised in a Baptist/ Jewish home. So I guess some part of that is still etched in me. I connect on a philosophical level with these paths and do not belong to any religion. Hence me being a Agnostic.

Lately I've been applying parts of the Law of Attraction and Buddhism to my life. I've been liking it so far. They're both somewhat similar, so it's not that difficult.

Theravada (I practice with a Vipassana meditation center), Zen (I also practice with a meditation center in the Soto tradition), and Madhyamaka (Nagarjuna was one of my first encounters with Buddhist philosophy, and even the complex logic of this school intuitively made sense to me when I was 16 years old). I've found them to be highly compatible schools of Buddhism.

I like Buddhism as a Philosophy. For religions, I currently blend UU with Zoroastrianism and Baha'i, with a little liberal Christianity thrown in. I want to know why Zoroastrianism isn't more popular?

Zoroastrianism once the native faith of Persia was brought to near extinction by Islam, now the official religion of Iran (Persia). Native Zoroastrians today in Iran are at odds with the authorities, and some of the Zoroastrians live in long standing diaspora communities.

It really needs to become popular again. It seems like a no nonsense, practical faith without the decorum and ritual of other faiths.

I've always been under the impression that they aren't interested in converts.
I don't know how true that is, but this is what I've gathered in more than one time and place or person.

I think it's true. They had an anti-conversion rule too, but there are groups that have allowed conversion. I have decided on my calling in life: to bring back the growth of the Zoroastrian religion! Noble, don't you think? :D

So what are you saying, really?

Not all gay men are into riding down the Hershey Highway. In fact, many gay men don't like it or do it.

As for flowing against the Tao... ah! I see the failure in, and lack of your understanding of the Tao.

I'm saying the reason it was removed from the DSM-IV as a mental disorder is totally political. I don't care what someone who claims to speak for Taoism has to say. I'm not a Taoist. I have my own philosophy and it's not confined to a label.
