Namaste,

Marriage is between two souls. Not, two species of humans. Congrats to these two, what a beautiful couple! The Gods shower them with blessings!

Agreed. It gives me faith in humanity that love in all it's beautiful forms is slowly becoming more acceptable.

Namaste,

India used to have its fair share of homosexuality in the Ancient and early medieval days. The Muslim Invasions followed by the British destroyed this tradition.

People are so afraid of homosexuality, it is ridiculous. Live and let live. But, who cares about what a polytheist like me says, eh? Hehe.

All the more reason to realize we are not the body, we are not "I".

OH, I've seen the exterior carvings of some of the Temples in India. The ancient Indians were quite liberated =)

Namaste,

Especially the women. They were the ones who called the shots, in my opinion. Even in a patriarchal society, they were much liberated than today and held great influence over their men. I would be in lala land if I went back to those time periods!

If I ever get married (and that is a strong "if"), this gives me a little hope. I would love a Hindu/general eastern ceremony and, while homosexuality is still taboo among many Indians, minds appear to be opening up. Even if little by little :)
