There is no evidence of God

I agree that in my opinion there is no scientific evidence for the existence of any deities. However, I am a Theist myself. I really don't personally believe that science can prove the existence of the supernatural.

There is a section of the science world that investigates the "paranormal" but it is not taken seriously (and/or ridiculed) by mainstream science.

It depends on the specifics. Sometimes they are ridiculed but only when they jump to conclusions they shouldn't. I support the scientific study of the paranormal so long as people accept that natural solutions or explanations can be derived from it. Paranormal means beyond the normal. It isn't spooky crazy things but rather things we don't know about yet.

Well the parts I know about are things like global consciousness, spirits, etc (and I dont mean ghost hunting like on those stupid tv shows).

No, you're right, there is no scientific evidence of God. About every other month or so, someone comes back to remind us all of that fact. Religion isn't about scientific evidence, at least the religions that have a God, they are faith based. :)
Welcome to the RF. :)

No photos, no fingerprints, no equations, no repeatable experiments....
no evidence.

Faith by definition requires no proving.

Not to say there is no sound reasoning.

Well everyone, I have returned to Catholicism and that also includes all of my previous views.

That said, I still believe there is no scientific evidence of God. I'm not sure if there ever will be. Regardless, I do believe that God exists. I do believe that there are several good philosophical arguments for the existence of God but believe me, I don't know them well enough to explain them. Saint Thomas Aquinas had several good philosophical arguments for God's existence. I believe Saint Augustine of Hippo did as well. And finally, there is the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano which some may see as evidence of God's existence. Scientific tests were done on it and proved several things. You can learn more here:

We're all dumb sheeple who never question our beliefs, after all. ;)

It would help if people stopped thinking we theists believe in a magic man in the clouds though.

^This pretty much. G-d is not anthropomorphic and anthropophatic. If we assume such, G-d is much more realistic and more probable to exist.

Even more reasonable than the existence of the UK and British people.

Of course there's ''evidence'' (however subjective it may be); It's just what people make of it. Some will accept it, others will not. Just like with anything else.

Catholic again already? That was fast... Does that mean you're against gay people and abortion again? And also, why does your religion still say UU?

I'm not trying to be a d*. I have already seen half a dozen rant threads stating there is no god because of A,B, and C. Trying to provide an non-overflowed thread that has a civilized discussion of the theories and evidence of god. If there is something that is solid I would be more than willing to hear about it. So quit your s*:slap:.

Naw, I'm joking about you quitting your s*. Thank you for welcoming me to the forum. I look forward to debate.;)

Did these things solely cause you to convert? Were there other factors?

That there is something rather than nothing and that it functions in such a way as to fashion increasing order from disorder can be seen as providing the basis for asserting preternatural agency as a reasonable inference.
