I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

Yet she generalized Muslim men as people who make women cover their faces and can't control themselves when looking at women. And praised western men, yet some western men as well rape women, and even with the liberal dress of western women, western men still rape and depict women in an unflattering way.

Yet according to some, only Muslim men can't control themselves

No argument from me there. I acknowledge that Rape is a problem in my country, as well as every other one. Regardless of religion/race etc.

In fairness though, there is credible evidence to show that Rape isn't primarily sexually-motivated, but rather violence-motivated. So regardless of whether or not a woman is wearing a Niqab or a Bikini/naked - she may very well be attacked just as likely.

This I can understand, but at the same time many non-Muslim Western women seem content to tell Muslim women that they 'can't do' such things as wear long-sleeved clothes or hijab because they don't personally agree with it, and call it 'oppressive' even where said Muslimah doesn't think so and where she personally desires to wear full-length abayas/hijab or whatever. In many cases, Muslim women who are making their own free choices as to their own lives are then being told that they shouldn't do that in the name of 'liberation'.

If you truly want freedom for Muslim women, or even just women generally, then you cannot impose your values on people. freedom of women can take many forms, and for me personally, that freedom comes through Islam. Rigid dogmas are useless, in any form.

Reminds me of this cartoon I saw once:

Islam guarantees womens rights!?
Don't make me laugh....

The fact that Muslim men request their women cover their faces says everything about Muslim men - they can't control themselves.
At least western men (for the majority) can enjoy the beauty of a woman without feeling they have the right to rape her because she's baring an ounce of flesh.

You really don't know Islam.

Women don't have to cover their face. It's just their hair.

May I ask again, what is "White Male sexuality" and what are "White Male values" - what do you mean by that?

Considering the number of Muslims worldwide, I think saying that "[Muslim men] can't control themselves" is an extremely broad generalization. I also find it condescending and presumptuous.

No rhetoric there. This was happening a few days ago in Waltham.

Funny? You find it funny? May the good Lord help us......... Its deadly serious. Oh! Sorry! You were using rhetoric....

Perhaps you could share your own past successes in similar fields of disharmony with us? Or are you an armchair critic?

I'm an armchair critic, criticizing your arm chair criticism, not the lives of 1 billion people though.

Oh way too long read some feminist literature. I'm rubbish at explaining stuff, I would never do as a teacher or writer.

Oki-doki, shall I read White Feminist literature or "people of colour" Feminist literature in order to understand White Male Sexuality & Values?

Read both

Wouldn't it be a little difficult to try and categorize the Sexuality and Values of an entire "Race" of people though? I mean it would be just as bad as saying "Black Male Sexuality & Values".

Or by "White" do you mean "Western/British" - or do you specifically mean white-skinned people, regardless of Nationality?

When feminists talk about male sexuality they don't mean that all males are the same, when black feminists talk about white supremacy and whiteness they don't mean all white people are the same. They are talking about how education, media, social views are mostly presented with the white male in mind and from that perspective.
For example pornography is mostly produced by white men for white men which is why it also includes racist fetishes. And it's been that way since the Victorians had secret museum so only rich white men could view pornography.

I see, thanks for the clarification.

You'll have to forgive me for just assuming you were labeling and generalizing all White men, while at the same time rallying against another poster's generalization against another group of people. I often find that text-based communication is very prone to misinterpretation.

It is not so much that muslim men can't controll themselves. It is more that they blame the women for showing them selves when they do rape.
They equate what they see with an invitation.

I know I'm going to be massively unpopular for saying this, but what's the problem with this? You wouldn't leave your valuables on show and the door unlocked for a burglar to come in your house. Many women dress in a way that is sexually appealing, and then wonder why they are harassed by men who believe the woman is sexually available/willing. Simple solution is that if you don't want attention, don't draw it to yourself!
